We stumbled into Hello Kitty Happy Flight at New Chitose Airport during a quick dash before our flight home, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise for the kids. Located along Smile Road, this themed area feels like stepping into a playful Hello Kitty version of an international airport.
The setup includes adorable zones themed after different countries, with fun backdrops and photo spots featuring Sanrio characters. The kids loved the pretend check-in counter, stamping stations, and the general whimsical vibe. It was interactive and entertaining without being overwhelming.
We did some last-minute shopping at the Happy Flight gift shop, where they sell exclusive merchandise only found at this location. We picked up some cute souvenirs like Hello Kitty-themed cookies, stationery, and even some ice cream in collectible cups. It was a hit with the little ones.

She didn’t even try to explain we can buy the passport and game points for the exhibition but just let us in. When we went back to the reception she’s still very impolite and didn’t apologise, explaining nothing just show us the signs of the price. However we still wasn’t informed there’s game points that we can buy. But I refuse to go back to the reception again to meet this extremely unfriendly staff.
