I recently visited Tenku No Torii, located mid-hill, and it proved to be a fantastic spot for capturing stunning views of Mount Fuji. The addition of the no torii adds a delightful Japanese flair, enhancing the vibrancy of the entire scene.
Upon arrival, I noted that there is a small entrance fee of 200 yen per visitor, which is well worth it for the experience. While tripods are not allowed, I found that it was easy to ask someone in the queue to take photos of me and my travel companion, ensuring we could capture the moment without any hassle.
One of the highlights was the presence of three no torii gates, which helped cut down on the queuing time, allowing more visitors to enjoy the view without long waits. If you're planning to drive, do keep in mind that parking can be a bit tricky in the area.
I arrived at 9:00 AM, and the soft morning sunlight made for beautiful photos. With only two other groups of visitors around, I had plenty of time to find the perfect angles to capture Mount Fuji in all its glory.
Overall, Tenku No Torii is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy breathtaking views and get some memorable photos. It's a wonderful spot that beautifully combines nature...
Read more⛩️ After a long drive from Takayama, we arrived at Tenkunotorii just before sunset and had the entire place to ourselves! While we were hoping for a clear view of Mount Fuji, the iconic mountain was unfortunately hiding behind thick clouds, so we missed out on that breathtaking sight. However, the peaceful atmosphere and the stunning beauty of the torii gate made the trip absolutely worth it.
Even without the view of Mount Fuji, there was something magical about being at Tenkunotorii as the day faded into evening. The serenity of the location, combined with the soft colors of the sunset reflecting off the torii gate, created a calming and almost spiritual experience. The kids loved exploring the area, and we were able to take some amazing photos of the torii gate standing majestically against the backdrop of the sky.
Though the iconic view didn’t pan out this time, the visit was still memorable, and we’re glad we made the trip. For anyone visiting Japan and hoping for that famous Mount Fuji view, Tenkunotorii is definitely a spot to check out, but keep in mind that the weather can be unpredictable. Still, the peacefulness and beauty of the area are worth it, regardless of...
Read moreCons: It will be a 50 mins long hike (without stopping for breaks) from the Family Mart at the main road to Tenku no Tori with the later half of the journey comprising of uphill tarred road. The traffics isn’t that bad. Not a lot of cars going up or downhill. The Tenku no Tori gate view is not super nice as well. You can get nicer view at the lake near the family mart where you drop off.
Pros: come if you love “mountain bathing”. There are no stairs to climb which is good. Just a slow trek up the mountain road and there is even a camp site with cafe area and good view of Fuji and place for you to buy soft serve and drinks. Note: I didn’t see toliets at the cafe area of the campsite though. The entry fee to Tenku no Torii is 100 Yen/person. Not expensive. The photo taking is regulated by one auntie who will help you take photo but take note she will also limit your photo taking duration to only 3 mins. I love her for doing so otherwise the queue might get too long. Yes, there is a queue to take photo at...
