The views are great I admit and I really wanted to come back/recommend this to others but was VERY disappointed on their service and “rules”.
We ran into 2 friends, a total surprise, (from abroad) at the shrine near the campsite. Therefore, we welcomed them to visit and see our campsite since we wanted to show them the beautiful view and the space.
However, during checkout, they told us that since we had guests in the space, they charged us over 6000 yen for ‘not asking the reception if we could have guests’. We did not know this was not allowed. My friends stayed less than 15 min, did not use any amenities, and simply stepped into the property. No where during check in or in the booklet did it say no visitors.
The staff was inflexible and made us feel like we were in the wrong. This space did not feel welcoming as I left and did not thank us during our departure. We would not have invited the friends to visit to see the space if we knew these were “rules” and there would be such a large charge $.
Our visitor friends even said they would love to come back to stay in the future after seeing the campsite, but I should tell them not to anymore.
For the campsite owners, please share your rules from the beginning during check in and write it properly in your booklet. Even if it’s part of your culture, we would not have known as it was some of our first time here in Japan. It’s not a matter of money, but frustrated at the facility staff’s lack of flexibility and understanding for this whole situation. We felt very unwelcomed after this happened.
For future guests, please make sure to ask what extra rules/charges they have if you do decide to stay here. Hopefully you have a better...

A 15 minute drive up the mountain, husband opted to have the meal which was a lot for one person but good value. Sadly no vegetarian options so purchased food from the supermarket beforehand as we were only staying there for one night. It’s cosy and each hut feels secluded from one another, rained but cleared up straight away. Late into the evening Fuji made an appearance and in the morning. Beautiful to see and a quaint place to get away from the hustle and bustle in Tokyo. The bugs in the evening were unpleasant but expected and spray is in your hut if needed. Room can get a little hot but there is a fan inside you can run. Breakfast was a mozzarella pizza bread with soup and pickled vegetables. Only negative was the shower, it was very small, felt unclean due to floor and the floor needed to be washed and the mat replaced. Other than that, it was a peaceful stay and we would go back. If you do visit the shrine, a 5 minute walk to Asama shrine please ensure you carry yen it is 100 yen per person for a photo with no tripods. Suited us but saw a few people arrive then walk away as they didn’t have yen on them. Would love to visit in a different season, see vegetarian meals offered (tofu or soy meat) and stay longer next time. Hosts were very friendly, there is a guide book inside your hut and language barrier isn’t...
Read moreMy glamping experience in Kawaguchiko was nothing short of magical. In December 2024, with temperatures around 2 degrees, we arrived at our cozy wooden house and immediately lit a fire in the fireplace. Watching the sunset during the golden hour with Mount Fuji as our backdrop was simply breathtaking.
As night fell, we enjoyed a delightful barbecue dinner prepared by our host. The atmosphere was perfect, and we savored every bite. After dinner, we relaxed on the balcony and indulged in stargazing, fortunate to witness a clear sky filled with stars.
The following morning, we woke early to see Mount Fuji bathed in golden light from the sunrise. Enjoying breakfast with such a stunning view was the perfect way to start the day. This glamping experience was the most romantic getaway I've ever had, combining nature, comfort, and unforgettable moments. I highly recommend QOONEL+ for anyone looking for a...
