Amazing exhibition and sparkling new facilities. Conveniently located in Ropponmatsu which is a new development after Kyushu University had moved away. There were many more than just a museum. They had some spaces for holding workshops, little library, and science lab etc. In the same building, there is many shops and restaurants, all brand new!
When we visited, the Sukesuke special exhibition was going. It was very interesting with full of cutting edge projection technology. Not so vast than expected, but nice and compact for visiting in one day. We also had a look around in permanent exhibition which also was full of interesting technologies. Despite this minor setback, my son thoroughly enjoyed the museum and spent four hours exploring the various exhibits. The temporary exhibit on the 5th floor was particularly interesting and worth...
Read moreA worthwhile experience for both adults and children. The science museum is a fantastic affordable option for local and visiting families with children. However, the planetarium show costs about the same as a standard movie ticket and is absolutely worth experiencing, even as an adult with no children. Although the shows are in Japanese, you do not need to speak Japanese to have an incredible experience. The technology is amazing and the scented air paired with the show makes the experience completely immersive. Highly recommend making a visit to the museum and dining at the ground level...
