We stayed here only for 1 night. The hotel itself was well built and had nice decor. The strangest thing for us was the bar and restaurant, since the bar was closed by 915pm.
The hotel itself was located away from the major shopping malls but the hotel provided a shuttle bus to and from Hakata station every 30min. Be at the spot slightly earlier as the drivers are very punctual and they drive off on the dot. The shuttle was free and depending on the traffic, Hakata to the hotel is around 25 min.
The hotel had a small Onsen which was free for guests staying at the hotel. It is a very small Onsen but was not busy when we went at night. Typical rules of Onsen in Japan, take off shoes before going in, undress and put personal items in lockers, and wash off before going into the Onsen. For the male Onsen, there was one large pool and also a steam room for your use. Wasn't fancy and big like other resorts I've been to.
The strangest thing was the bar, which we visited and was closed at 915pm despite the room's hotel menu stating it closes at 1130pm. The bar was a full-on bar but the lights were on when we went there and there was nobody there upon arrival. Later, someone came over and told us that the bar was closed already. We did not understand why anyone would close a bar at 915pm, but maybe there wasn't enough guest to sustain the cost for keeping it open? A waste if you ask me, but I guess they used the place exclusively for happy hour drinks.
There is really nothing to do at the hotel after 930pm except for Onsen since all the restaurants, including the bar, was closed. Come to think about it, this hotel is probably more suited for seniors who might want to sleep by 10pm. The rooms provided two free pop drinks and two free beers, so that's a nice touch.
The breakfast buffet was ok, but the restaurant had a very tough time keeping up with bringing food out. We went for breakfast at 9am and I would say 30-40% of the food needed replenishing. It feels like either their cooks couldn't keep up or they were under-staff. The food itself was average, but another nice touch was a corner for local food. I would say it's better than Best Western breakfast, but I wouldn't compare it to any of the breakfast served at 5-star establishments.
All in all, a good place to wind-down if you are not looking to do anything there. I would really recommend the hotel to fix the bar opening hours. If you have a bar,...
Read moreWe chose this hotel because it’s the last leg of our trip and we want everything to be painless and so great that we won’t want to leave the hotel. But that was not the case.||Customer service: HORRIFYING for USD 250 a night||We arrived at 2:45pm and nobody was at the front of the hotel and it took 5 mins to have anyone coming out to greet us, after us yelling for hello and thinking that we were in ghost town.||We thought that we are just slightly early to check in, but their check in time is at 5pm!!!||Instead of offering to check any rooms are available for us, she showed us the spa package (REALLY?!!). We said that we’ll park our luggage and head into town. When she went to park our luggage she came back out and conveniently said, “you are so lucky!! My manager said that we have 1 room available for early check in!” Seriously?!! It’s universal hotel basic customer service to offer that. Especially at this price point!||Our room’s city view is blocked by some trees and branches that almost looked perfectly not trimmed so they can have higher price point for room with views.||We were asked to park our keys at front desk before we leave the hotel, so we did. Not a good idea!! When we came back at 11pm, nobody was at front desk again. My bf and I split and go into different rooms to finally find help to give us our key back.||Temperature was 16-21 degrees celcius. The room was so hot with their central heating. There were no cool air option at all and we were sweating. When we called front desk, the same woman brought a fan to us and asking why we need it. ||We were trying to keep our calm explaining how bad her fake attitude was towards the early check in and she said the style of the hotel management is traditional. We asked her to reflect to her management how bad of stay we have been having just within 6 hours.||Nothing happened of course. The woman apologised to us separately when we were leaving to fill the space with words while we were waiting for our taxi to the airport.||Location: Apparently they have a shuttle, it’s our vacation and we are the free birds traveller type. Instead, we walked everyday to Sakurazaka station to go to town and back. For this price point and type of service, it would be much better to stay in down town. ||A hotel that does not worth your money, frustration, and time. Go...
