気賀関所は1601年に徳川家康によって設置されました。東海道三大関所のひとつで、江戸時代に東海道沿いに設置された重要な関所です。

気賀関所は、主に姫街道（本坂通）を監視し、「入り鉄砲に出女」を取り締まるために重要な役割を果たしています。

「入り鉄砲に出女」（いりでっぽうにでおんな）とは江戸時代における関所の重要な取り締まり対象を指す言葉です。この言葉は、以下の二つの意味を持ちます。

入り鉄砲: 江戸に持ち込まれる鉄砲のことを指します。江戸幕府は、江戸での反乱や治安維持のため、鉄砲の持ち込みを厳しく監視していました。鉄砲を江戸に持ち込む際には、幕府老中が発行する「鉄砲手形」が必要でした。
