Hiraoka Jinja — Attraction in Higashiosaka

June, when Japan enters the rainy season, is the best time to enjoy the freshness of the forests. Strolling through temples and shrines that beautifully blend with nature is a great way to refresh oneself, so I often visit such places. This time, I visited "Hiraoka Shrine," not far from "Ishikiri Shrine" which I had previously visited.

It takes a little over 40 minutes by local train from Namba Station in Osaka, but there's no need to worry about getting lost as it is located right in front of Hiraoka Station.

The orderly rows of trees and stone pavements calm my mind. After climbing the slightly steep, long stone steps lined with stone lanterns on the gentle slope, there is a very majestic yet modest building. I thought this was the main structure of the shrine, but when I asked a pilgrim who happened to be there, I was told that this is the hall of worship, the place for prayer, and the main deities reside in the beautiful main shrine behind this building, with a striking contrast of red and white. The contrast between simplicity and splendor was very interesting and left a strong impression on me.

It is said that four deities are enshrined at this shrine. Moreover, these are gods from the mythological age, and it is said that the history of this shrine dates back to before the Common Era.

For now, it hasn't been trampled by tourists, so I enjoyed a peaceful walk to my heart's content. However, it is said that if you visit when the plum blossoms are in bloom, you can have a wonderful experience different from this season. I would like to visit again...

神聖な場所

枚岡神社の太鼓台祭り（ひらおかじんじゃのたいこだいまつり）は、大阪府東大阪市にある枚岡神社で毎年10月中旬に開催される秋祭りです。地元では「秋郷祭（しゅうごうさい）」とも呼ばれ、五穀豊穣や地域の安寧を祈願する神事として親しまれています。

この祭りの最大の見どころは、「太鼓台（だんじり）」と呼ばれる巨大な屋台を男衆が担いで町を練り歩く豪快な練り歩きです。太鼓台には太鼓や装飾が施されており、掛け声やお囃子（はやし）とともに地域を盛り上げます。特に夜のライトアップされた練り歩きは圧巻で、担ぎ手たちの熱気と観客の歓声が一体となり、神聖かつ勇壮な雰囲気を醸し出します。

The Taikodai Festival of Hiraoka Shrine is a traditional autumn festival held every mid-October at Hiraoka Shrine in Higashiosaka City, Osaka Prefecture. Locally known as the Shūgō-sai (Autumn Gathering Festival), it is a Shinto ritual meant to pray for a bountiful harvest and the safety of the local community.

The highlight of the festival is the dynamic procession of taikodai—massive, elaborately decorated portable floats. These floats, adorned with drums and intricate carvings, are hoisted and carried through the streets by groups of men. Accompanied by festive chants and traditional music (hayashi), the parade enlivens the town with a powerful, celebratory energy. 大阪府東大阪市に鎮座する枚岡神社。主祭神として祀られている天児屋命は、天岩戸の神話や天孫降臨にも登場する神で、創祀は神武天皇が即位される3年前。官幣大社として、占いの神、祭りの神としても知られ、秋には大阪を代表する大規模な祭「秋郷祭」が開催されています。初代天皇である神武天皇が即位された年を日本の元年(紀元前660年)とされていますが、枚岡神社は元年より3年前。紀元前663年に創祀。社格は「官幣大社」で、日本全国80,000社以上ある神社の中で60社ほどしかない格式高い神社です。(※旧官幣大社に列した明治4年当時は数十万社あった神社中、官幣大社は29社のみ)東大阪という土地柄もあるかもしれませんが、気取らず地域の人々から親しまれている神社で、ハイキングに行かれる方も気軽に参拝されています。 河内国一之宮として格式高く、御神徳は国家安泰、家内安全、夫婦和合、開運招福。天児屋根命を祖とする一族が「平岡連」と呼ばれるようになり、後に中臣氏の氏神に。中臣氏の祖神であることから藤原氏の氏神としても信仰されています。奈良に「春日大社」を創建した際には「枚岡神社」より分霊勧請されていることから、枚岡神社は「元春日」ともいわれています。また、天児屋根命を祖とする一族が平岡連と呼ばれるようになったことから枚岡神社は「元春日平岡大社」とも。 枚岡神社では、お子様の「命名」で命名書を発行されている他、祈祷はお宮参り「初宮」詣、「安産」詣、「七五三」詣をはじめ、「家内安全」、「身体健康」、「病気平癒」、「厄除」、「災難除」、「交通安全」（車・バイクのお祓い）、「合格」、「必勝」、「良縁」、「神恩感謝」、「心願成就」など。出張では「地鎮祭」、「上棟祭」なども対応されています。 枚岡神社で気づくのは「鹿」。なで牛ではなく、枚岡神社では「なで鹿」です。理由はご祭神の武甕槌命が神鹿に乗り旅立たれたことから、「鹿」は神の使いとされ、奈良公園に「鹿」が沢山いるのも同じ理由です。奈良公園の一部は、枚岡神社より分霊勧請されている春日大社の境内でもあり、神の使いとされる「鹿」は天然記念物に指定され、文化財保護法により手厚く保護されています。 枚岡神社には梅林もあり、「かおり風景100選」にも入いる名所となっているほか、秋には収穫を歓ぶ氏子が、枚岡大神に感謝の心を捧げる為に「秋郷祭」が開催されています。布団太鼓が担がれ、枚岡神社へと奉納される大阪を代表する秋祭りで、23台もの布団太鼓が宮入奉納され、屋台もずらりと並び、とても華やかなお祭りです。 枚岡神社のアクセスは、近鉄奈良線「枚岡駅」下車すぐ。車の場合は40台ほどの無料駐車場が完備されており、利用時間は9時から16時。土日は祈祷される方が優先されるた...
