Hyogo Prefectural Museum of History — Attraction in Himeji

A perfect choice to visit if you're heading to Himeji. For adults, it's 200 JPY/person for entrance for paid floor(2nd floor). 1st floor is free to visit. (However, I strongly recommend you to visit 2nd floor as well.) It has a wide collection of Hyogo prefectural historic stuff which is mainly focused on architecture and entertainment(matsuri, etc.). However, there aren't enough english materials for foreign traveller, so you might not understand of texts in there well. Despite such things, still, it's worth to visit. Overall tour time will probably be about 60...

A functional but not exceptional local museum. Has both free (ground floor) and paid (second floor) exhibits. The former seemed to be worth it if you've got 20-30 minutes to burn. Did not check out the latter but the Y1000 admission price seemed excessive given the apparently limited floor space (i.e. paid area love led to be smaller than the free area).

English language labelling was a bit of a mixed bag... Brief 'section' labels were translated as were many artifact labels, but none of the longer information plaques...
