November 1857 Townsend Harris stayed here. A must see temple with a late Heian period Kannon as the venerated statue. Beautifully maintained grounds and buildings. The side chapel sliding doors have various Daruma drawings. When we visited on the 15 February they temple was displaying a scroll showing the Buddha's Parinirvana.
