This inn has some of the best Onsen hot springs we have found in the area so far; the baths overlook a river and forest which is really peaceful. At night time they even illuminate the trees adjacent to the river for heightened ambience. Mr Iida checked us in- he was professional, helpful and his English is very impressive considering elsewhere we have found the language barrier quite difficult at times! He even helped us find local restaurants in the area. The Japanese rooms provide the authentic cultural experience with futon bedding and all the essential amenities you would expect. You can hear the sound of the flowing river below from the room. Various vending machines are available for drinks etc and at reasonable prices. The location is also good for visiting the Joren waterfalls in the Izu peninsular. This place is a bit more remote and will give you better insight to traditional Japanese way of living. The place is great but if you can't sleep on a futon, don't come here. If you can't do public bath with onsen , don't come here. The rooms need updating but I didn't come here for sleep I came here to relax in the hotspring (onsen) and enjoy the great scenery. I've stayed at the more robust hotels with great atmosphere, but this one is more quaint and gives off a much different vibe. Very mellow and relaxed with plenty of private baths in the onsen area...
Read moreThis hotel offers a 5 stars service at a price of 3 stars hotel I would say. Location is quite good since it is just a few minutes drive from the infamous Joren Falls.Hotel staffs provide the greatest level of omotenashi. Room is nice and cosy with private onsen in every Western style room or suites I think. The room view overlooking the river and myriads of autumn colours is just breathtaking. We stayed there during weekdays so probably that is why we got the deal at a price where no where else could give with such services. Didn't try the meals though. We really cherished every second spent there and would love to come back again....
