Entrance to an easy hike, taking about 1 hour to the top of the Kurama mountain. The section from Kifune to the top is very beautiful, you might encounter some deer or other wildlife on the way. The nature is really incredible, the air is so fresh, the wood smells great, you can hear all sorts of birds... On the way upwards, you will encounter some people, but it's not too crowded. The Kurama temple is way more close to the Kurama station, so it might make more sense to start there, if you are just willing to visit the temple.
If you want to have a nice hike, start from Kifune station, hike to the top, visit the temple, and hike down on the Kurama side. There are many signs and the path is very easy to follow. Many people are going in streetwear, however mind that your shoes might get dirty if it has rained / snowed...
