It's a beautiful historical building with a big, varied garden. On sunny clear days you can see Mt. Fuji in the distance. The original owner's information (the younger brother of the last shogun, who lived abroad as a child) is very interesting and there is a museum onsite dedicated to his story. I learned a lot about that period in history from the museum. Also, at the bottom of the hill there area couple of good restaurants after your visit. Read more松戸徳川家の別邸と庭園、茶室、及び松戸徳川家にまつわる品々が展示されている博物館を擁している公園です。別邸や茶室、及び博物館の利用は有料ですが、この公園自体は一般に解放され、無料で利用することが出来ます。一方で常時開放されておらず、定休日もあることに注意が必要です。 別邸や茶室、博物館を利用せず、園内を周遊するだけであれば、30分程度で済みます。『日本の歴史公園100選』の一つに指定されており、芝生や樹木、園内の様々な設備はよく手入れがされていて、庭園の保存・維持されています。そのため、ボールなどの遊具を使った遊び、テントやパラソルの使用は禁止されています。ゆったりと散策するための公園と考えた方がいいでしょう。春には桜、秋には紅葉を楽しむことが出来ます。 高台にある公園であるため、園内から富士山を見ることが出来ますが、西側にはマンションなどの高い建物があり、やや風情に欠ける状況であることに注意が必要です。
The park includes the Matsudo Tokugawa family's villa, garden, tearooms, and a museum exhibiting items related to the Matsudo Tokugawa family. The villa, tearooms, and museum are available for use for a fee, but the park itself is open to the public and can be used free of charge. Note, however, that the park is not always open to the public and is closed on certain days. If you just want to walk around the park without using the villa, tea house, or museum, it will only take about 30 minutes. The garden is designated as one of the "100 Best Historical Parks in Japan," and the lawn, trees, and various facilities in the park are well maintained and the garden is well preserved and maintained. For this reason, playground equipment such as balls, tents and parasols are prohibited. It is best to think of the park as a place for a leisurely stroll. Visitors can enjoy the cherry blossoms in the spring and the autumn leaves in the fall.
