Coming here in the cool of spring with a hillside full of cherry blossoms in full bloom and watching the sun set beyond the Japan Alps is an experience of a lifetime. It was relatively quiet on a weekday evening even during full blossom, offering sufficient space for a picnic mat at a spot of your choice. The walk out to the main road takes around 5 mins, walking past even more cherry blossoms of varying shades of white and pink. The bus from Matsumoto bus terminal (no. 23) only departs every 2-3 hours, 6 trips a day.
