Art Tower Mito — Attraction in Mito

Wasn't worth the time and ¥200.

There was barely any "art" inside the tower.

The observation deck had small round windows which were barely as big as a basketball.

Looks like the shape of the tower is supposed to be the "art" but in daylight it just looked a bit rusty. Looked great in the nighttime pictures which they had in the lobby so do not go there during the day, I guess?

Frankly I'd rather pour hot water and watch my cup noodles...

I took the 500 Yen tour that includes a tour of theater, concert hall and part of the gallery plus a complimentary coffee. Nice place but not jaw dropping. They were repairing the sound system and it was not a very photogenic sight. The tower looks best at night with the illumination but you can view that for free from outside. The tower is designed in the shape of a DNA and while impressive, there is nothing to do...
