Manatee Pool — Attraction in Motobu

If you appreciate these animals, don't pay to see them in such horrible conditions. This is profit from the misery of these animals. They are in small aquariums with nothing to engage or interact with for 20+ years. They are smart animals and surely the people who profit from this are well aware that even some simple adjustments would greatly improve the quality of their lives....

The manatee pool is a great place to view adult and baby manatees, supplementing the main Churami Aquarium. You can either view them from the top of the pool, or head to the pool observatory below.

While the pool may look a little small for these manatees, they look well-taken care of.

I’ve rarely seen something so heartbreaking. These magnificent animals are trapped in a basin that’s far too small. Not only is the space inadequate, but it’s also barren, just a bleak, unattractive pool. I felt so sad that even thinking about it now brings tears to my eyes.
