長瀞は、日本地質学発祥の地で片岩が観察できます。片岩は「県の岩石」に「虎岩」の成分として有名なスチルプノメレンは「県の鉱物」になっています。片岩を細かく分類すると、泥岩が変成したものを「泥質片岩」砂岩が変成したものを「砂質片岩」玄武岩などの塩基性火成岩が変成したものを「緑色片岩」マンガンに富んだ紅簾石を含むものは「紅簾石片岩」藍閃石を多く含むものは「青色片岩」と呼ばれています。岩畳と赤壁は薄く剥がれやすい特徴の泥質片岩だそうです。また親鼻橋の上流右岸には、産出の稀な紅簾石片岩の露頭があります。

Extremely beautiful area.

Came during the fall to check out the foliage but wish that we (1) came much earlier due to ridiculous traffic (static lineup on the exit ramp from the highway was at least 2 km long) (2) Rented/brought bikes
