Shima-seiryu no yu is a great day-use onsen. It is owned by the city of Nakanojo and is open to the general public.
Like the other hotsprings in the Shima area it is a calcium-salt onsen. The baths are clean and both offer indoor and outdoor sections. Both baths have an excellent view of the river and surrounding mountains.
The only caveat is that you trade a bit of privacy for the great view.
If you are in Shima-onsen for a day, this is a great place to take a bath and relax.
