————————— 🐅 - Ikeda Zoo: There is a bus route which runs in the general vicinity of Ikeda Zoo, it is a 12 minute walk from the bus stop to the zoo, assuming you know which way to walk. A more reasonable method for visitors to access the zoo is to catch a taxi at the JR Okayama train station. The ride takes about 8 minutes, and my taxi fare from Okayama Station to the zoo was 1060 yen. (For some reason, the return trip taxi fare was only 980 yen).

Read moreIkeda Zoo made me a bit uncomfortable. We saw à White Tiger, a Lion and a bear in very very tiny enclosure (15m2~) !! How can they be happy physically and mentally in these conditions ? There are a lot of other animals who have a lot of space, so it relieved us a bit. The zoo is big ! I'm sure you can relocated these big animals who need to run, jump and feel a bit more free ! But, I certainly felt that the employees care for all these animal ! I'm sure they love them but, again, the size of some enclosure shocked me... Maybe the Zoo need more money and visitors to provides the animals a better...
Read moreMy daughter loves capybaras, so, we decided to stop by, since we were near by. And we were very disappointed by the zoo. The zoo is very old, cages are very small and dirty. Poor white tiger is sitting under the little roller coaster and the mechanism of it is very loud and noisy, I could not stand there for even 2 minutes and the tiger is sitting there all the time.
