The museum exhibits various tools and historical items that remind us of those days and show the lifestyle of those days. 糸魚川～松本を結ぶ千国(ちくに)街道は塩の道とも呼ばれます。武田信玄が今川氏から塩の供給をストップされ領内経営に苦しんでいたがかつては敵であった上杉謙信が信濃や甲斐の領民のために塩送った話は有名です(敵に塩を送る)。塩問屋であった平林氏が代々使用してきた由緒ある建物であり国指定重文です。中は千国街道や塩の運搬などの説明、平林家に伝わる家財などが展示されてます。外の蔵は3つあり常設と企画展なのかな？歴史ある建物にはよくあることだが傷んでたり手直し必要な箇所あり。部分的に補修してあります。入口は天井高く柱梁剥き出しで囲炉裏あり見応えあります。一番奥の部屋もよかったです。蔵は保存状態良好です。流鏑馬会館も併設されており大町の若一王子神社で行われる子供流鏑馬の展示になってます。建物隣は大町市散策のための無料駐車...
