The “AkaPla Illumination 2018-2019” is held at Sapporo Kita 3-jo Plaza (AkaPla) from November 22th to March 14th next year, during which period the AkaPla’s row of ginkgo trees – the oldest existing roadside trees in Hokkaido – will be displayed amid a kaleidoscope of colorful light. As well as tricolor LED illuminations that express ever-changing hues, color-changing spotlights will create beautiful, vividly colored scenes at the Former Hokkaido Government Office Building (Akarenga), a building symbolic of Sapporo. Sapporo Kita 3-jo Plaza is located nearby susukino subway station where can reach anywhere in sapporo through JR and subway and so on!

when we were here, we felt here is looked somewhere in Europe especially Nederlands as similar as we experienced!

and, the famous Hokkaido government building decorated of background of plaza so beautifully!

isn't it so modern? as you see my photos?

we took the photos and felt so much freely!

oh, and there are so many shops and restaurants, cafe if you go down subway!

心地の良い広場空間。旧北海道庁舎に向けた軸線が広場として整備されており、さまざまな方に自由におおらかに利用されています。休日にはマルシェイベント等が実施されていて賑わっている気持ちの良い場所です。

以下、公式サイトから抜粋です。 ▪️歴史について 北３条通が造られたのは、明治初頭。当時は「札幌通」と名付けられ、東に延びる通り沿いには札幌農学校や開拓使の官営工場など、様々な機関が集まりました。大正13年(1924年)、道庁赤れんが庁舎正門前から札幌駅前通までの区間(延長 117.27m、車道幅員 14.54m)に、札幌で最初の舗装道路である木塊舗装(車道)とアスファルト舗装(歩道)が施工されました。 木塊舗装は、道南のブナ材から、長さ15cm、幅9cm、厚さ8.5cmの大きさの木ブロックを約 12 万 4 千個採り、クレオソート油とコールタールを混ぜた防腐剤を含浸させて施工しました。翌 14年(1925年)には、東京から運ばれた樹齢 19 年のイチョウ 32 本が植樹され、北海道最古の街路樹として、今でも 29...
