CAFE YOSHIMI — Restaurant in Sapporo

Unpleasant customer experience

We came to the Cafe reception asking for a table of 4 in English at around 1040am. The male staff guided us to the tables outside although there were plenty of empty seats inside. He kept putting us outside despite us requesting him for rearrangement repeatedly.

We later asked for clarification, and the male staff stated that all the seats inside required a reservation through telephone. We took seats due to no reaervation was made. However, minutes later, we observed that none of the other customers going inside without showing reservation.

We asked for further clarification and another staff came out saying that the seats inside were only available after 11am, which was not reasonable as there were multiple customers inside at the time. They also told us that the seats inside had time limit, which was irrelevant to the context.

There was naengmyeon that I couldn't eat in Morioka. The woman next to me was eating it, so I tried. It was delicious. It was definitely a completely different dish from Korean naengmyeon. It's just that the types of noodles are similar. Just like Korean naengmyeon has many different noodles, Cafe Yoshimi's naengmyeon had a thick and tough texture. There are various toppings. Shellfish, kimchi, cucumbers, and so on. And it seems that there are various powders in the broth. The biggest difference from Korean naengmyeon is the absence of sourness. There is no sour taste at all. I liked Yoshimi's naengmyeon because it was spicy. In my most recent visit to Sapporo, I had lunch twice in this caffe. Compared to Tokyo, prices are more affordable, and the quality of food is 👌🏻
