Feather Razor Museum — Attraction in Seki

The world's first museum of razors (or blades) and precision cutting instruments was an unexpected surprise. Free of charge and very neatly done, you can read about the various types of cutting and cutting instruments from different cultures. I am giving it 4 stars because lack of English language descriptions limit this place to people who can read and understand Japanese. If you want to see how razor blades evolved from the early 30s, visit this place! The displays are interesting and you can even see different surgical blades up close.

What I liked was the razor wall which was made of 17,000 unsharpened blades.

JR岐阜駅で献血したあと、岐阜県関市が刃物で有名な町とのことだったので、長良川鉄道の「せきてらす前駅」のすぐ近くにある「フェザーミュージアム」までバイクで移動し見学して来ました。 フェザーさんといえばカミソリで有名なメーカーですが、こちらの施設は題材が刃物というどちらかといえば大人向けで多少マニアックな物のためか、館内には他のお客さんもほとんどおらず、少し寂しい感じでもありました。ただ、そのおかげでゆったりと見学できて私たち的には助かりました。 入館料は無料で、せきてらす前駅からは徒歩で3分ほど。車やバイクを停められるスペースもあるので便利です。 展示コーナーは1階と2階にあり、敷地に入る門の横と建物に入ってすぐ右側には大きなＴ字カミソリの置物が飾ってあり、また2mほどもある床屋さんが使うカミソリや手術用のメスの飾り物もあり、それらと一緒に記念撮影も出来ます。 その先にはフェザーさんの歴史とともに販売された過去の商品も並んでいて、楽しく懐かしく拝見できました。 あと、ヒゲソリのお試しも出来るみたいで、それ専用の洗面コーナーなど、ちょっと不思議な設備もあったりしました。 今回はあまり時間がなかったので駆け足での見学になりましたが、じっくり見れば面白そうな展示物も結構ありましたので、無料施設であることを考えれば結構おすすめできる見学施設ではないかと感じました。 個人的には今回訪問出来てと...
