Tohoku University Kawauchi Campus seems to have more trees on campus than Katahira Campus which does have tall trees along roads of campus-wall.
When visiting the campus, I was impressed at the campus trees and rain-shield-roof walk ways which enable students and faculties to walk around campus without worrying raining weather.
In addition, there are various large posters or signs to warm students and visitors for wild boars at this campus. Also, this campus has numerous vending machines for selling drinks- water, soda, tea, coffee, and even instant noodle cups, because student center, which has cafeteria, is NOT open in summer. The campus does have garden or small forest feeling in some part of Kawauchi campus, and, overall, campus is very clean, quiet and, for safety, NO one is allowed to drive or bike-riding in many areas of this campus. Visitors surely can enjoy casual walks on campus.
Tohoku University Kawauchi Campus is open to the public and is easily accessed by Sendai subway at Kawauchi Station and exit at South 1 or 2.
