We have a long stay here, first we stay in ocean view room, hotel locates in cliff so can have a beautiful view looking at the ocean. Next few days we stay in balcony room which is much bigger and big balcony you can breathe the fresh air and lots of green in front of you! Hotel already have 50 years old, maybe someone feels a bit old but honestly speaking they maintain very well,like the lobby, corridor, room inside etc they renovated recently, very clean, a lot of sun light, which make you feel in a morden standard hotel! Hotel location: 7mins taxi to station or they provide shuttle bus to station too. super convenience! If you like a comfortable walk, you also can walk around 25 mins in the path along the ocean. We love to do it every morning and you will pass the Aquarium which you can meet the dolphins playing inside!! What a bonus! Swimming pool like a resort feel and lots of outdoor place to walk inside hotel, and back of swimming pool there have a stairs walking down to a small beach which you can enjoy your time there.outdoor onsen was beautiful and can see the ocean, the best time to go is breakfast time and dinner time!:) One would like to super highlight is the staff super nice,friendly and helpful! specially Chita San(maybe wrong spelling) she is very very professional to assist us and give us lots of information and also Watanabe San, and all other staff in front desk and front door they all very passionate to guests. ||One comment about the mattress and pillow is a bit too firm for foreigner but seems everywhere is the same here...not a very big deal of it ||overall is worth staying here to have a relaxing trip to explore Shimoda
