Koh Sushi — Restaurant in Shimoda

It was a miracle we got a reservation on the day! On our trip to Shimoda, we decided to give it a shot and called right before lunch, and luckily, we were able to get a table. We sat at the counter, and the owner greeted us with a wonderful smile that immediately made us feel welcome. It was such a special and unforgettable time, watching him carefully prepare each piece of sushi right in front of us while explaining the season and unique qualities of the local fish. While the sushi was absolutely delicious, the owner's warm personality was what truly made our trip to Shimoda even more wonderful. He was so kind and even gave us tips on local hidden gems. I'm incredibly grateful for the delicious sushi and the heartfelt hospitality. I definitely want to visit this amazing place again. I highly recommend it to anyone...

Such a lovely sushi restaurant. Fish is fresh and taste is so unique, chef has a special marinade for some fish types that I ate for the forst time. He has an amazing personality, very friendly, helped us a lot with local recommendations and he explains each sushi piece in very interesting way, exactly how I like it.
