I'd highly recommend this restaurant if you're ever in the area.
Food - Excellent tonkatsu, freshly breaded, everything homemade. Loved the kinmedai croquettes and the tender pork katsu.
Service - The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team. Husband is the chef. Wife is the hostess taking orders, waiting tables, and between running to and fro the kitchen, she actually had time to make origami, do simple magic tricka and give science lessons to our children. She was phenomenal! She made our entire night special.
Atmosphere - The restaurant has a bar counter that seats around 6 pax, and 3 long tables on a tatami platform that can seat about 6 pax each. There are 4 car parking bays outside the restaurant. The restaurant fronts onto the marina, with boats parked in front of it. I loved how homely and well-kept the restaurant is. You will see special notes handwritten by guests on their notice board behind the bar counter.

Read moreLovely place with a great atmosphere, a very kind and friendly owner and delicious food. It is also very welcoming to foreigners and has an English version of the menu.
We both ordered the pork katsu set and everything was amazing. It was easily the best pork katsu we have had so far in Japan. The meat was so tender and extremely well prepared, and the coating or crumb had so much flavour you almost didn't need the katsu sauce - side note the katsu sauce came in a jug so we could pour as much as we wanted!
The local specialty fish croquette that can be added to the set is also a must-try because it's very tasty.
While we were waiting, the owner gave us an origami lesson and made some lovely paper crafts for us to keep.
10/10 I really wish we were staying in the area longer so I could...
Read moreGreat little tonkatsu restaurant. If you drive up to it, there is parking for at least 3 to 4 cars outside the restaurant. Inside the seating is floor seating, so it's a bit difficult for someone like me who hasn't sat on the floor in years. The food was excellent! Has the hire katsu set for 1900. It came with an excellent miso soup. I haven't tasted miso like this anywhere else before. The service was good too. The lady who was there was very kind and made origami cranes, dolls and other items. She was so kind and nice and friendly. Great experience. Will be back if in the...
