We were driving to 白浜 beach and saw this along the way. We immediately stopped the car and parked. Among entering, we saw a BBQ area, and took note.
Inside, various stalls were set up. There was a man expertly disassembling a tuna, piece by piece, and giving a little show while at it. Each piece he cut from the giant fish was wrapped and sold and excellent prices. There were shrimp the size of my face selling for 250円!
We ended up grabbing a bunch of food from the market, then heading to the BBQ area to cook it and eat it. The BBQ area charged 300円 per person, but provided us with some utensils and garbage bags.
We got in trouble for bringing drinks from the market into the BBQ area, but they let us finish our drinks anyway. If you want to drink in the BBQ area you must buy drinks inside the BBQ area (a little pricy).

Read moreIt's an interesting place to take a look. It's basically a large air-conditioned market with a dozen stores selling seafood (if you haven't seen one before). You buy the seafood from the stores and carry it to the BBQ place next door (800¥/ pax) inclusive of unlimited soft drinks.
There you do your own BBQ. For the fun sake of BBQ, why not. But don't expect your seafood to taste fantastic. After all, there is only salt and nothing else.
