谷津山 — Attraction in Shizuoka

A phenomenal and flourishing island of nature rising above an enveloping sea of modern urbanity. Full of bird song, towering old trees, maintained trails, and mysterious layers of history. Many scenic overlooks in all directions and the surrounding soundscape give a sense of closeness, and yet this is a place where natural spirit is in charge of things.

Mosquito repellent is only advisable if you stop moving. There are few to no services beyond benches or picnic tables and a few pavilions. It's small enough to be accessible by the casual hiker but big enough to be a satisfying excursion or workout. Don't expect vending machines or bathrooms, shoes appropriate for dirt trails advised, though they're very well-maintained. I think this place is an open secret treasure...

住宅街の中にある山です。 どこから登っても降りても住宅街なので、クマの心配はありません。 ハチと蚊だけは要注意。 運動不足でメタボ気味なので、体力づくりのために登りました。 清水山公園からスタートして 愛宕神社まで尾根沿いを歩き同じ道を戻る予定でしたが 思っていた以上にアップダウンがあり 帰りは途中で山を降り車道で戻りました。素人さん要注意です。 清水山公園の登り口から戻るまでの所要時間は約１時間45分でした。

清水山公園は最寄りに静鉄電車の音羽町駅 愛宕神社側は最寄りに長沼駅があるので 疲れたら電車を併用することも可能です。
