Ajinomoto Stadium (味の素スタジアム, Ajinomoto Sutajiamu), also known as Tokyo Stadium in AFC Champions League, is a multi-purpose stadium in Chōfu, Tokyo, Japan. The stadium was founded at Kantō Mura, the redevelopment area formerly used by United States Forces Japan, in March 2001. It was the first stadium in Japan that offered its naming rights, which were sold to Ajinomoto Co., Inc. with a 5-year 1.2 billion yen (about 10 million U.S. dollars) contract, from March 2003 to February 2008. Read moreLucky enough to attend two games at Ajinomoto our last trip! Tokyo Verdy v. Yokohama F Marinos & FC Tokyo v. Kashima Antlers. The stadium itself is awesome, they put a lot of effort into the thematics and flare, and both teams feel represented by the stadium at their games. Seats were great, fans were great, and the games were fantastic. Can’t wait to return.
Only complaint is how far the stadium is from the main city. It’s a minimum of 45 minutes away, and if you’re lucky you can catch an express train there or back to save time. Just be ready for crowds going to or...
Read moreI’ve been watching two games there and the atmosphere was quite good. Japanese supporters are quite energetic (compared to how you see them «normally »), cheering and singing but no crazy stuff like in europe (you won’t end up with a fight of a broken leg because someone pushed you). And as it’s not messy as in our countries, you can buy beer ! It’s a bit complicated for non japanese speaker to buy tickets through the lawson system.
