Akiba Kart Shibuya — Attraction in Tokyo

I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration regarding an incident that occurred during our recent visit to your go-karting facility in Japan. Despite our excitement and anticipation, we were unable to participate in the go-karting experience due to issues raised about our documentation.

We were informed by a staff member (who appeared to be French) that our documents were not in order, and as a result, we were denied the opportunity to participate. However, just a week prior, our friends had presented the same documents and were allowed to take part in the go-karting experience without any issues. This inconsistency is particularly troubling as we had gone to our local municipal offices specifically to ensure that our documents were in compliance with your requirements.

The lack of clear and consistent communication from your staff about the necessary documentation is unacceptable. It is not reasonable for one staff member to deem our documents insufficient while another accepts the same documents from other participants. This inconsistency not only ruined our experience but also resulted in a waste of our time and effort.

We request a thorough review of this incident and an explanation as to why we were treated differently from our friends. Additionally, we would appreciate information on the correct documentation requirements to prevent such misunderstandings in the future. We hope for a prompt response and a satisfactory resolution to this issue.

I had an amazing time with Akiba Kart Shibuya — such a fun and unforgettable experience! Driving through the city in costume was already a blast, but what truly stood out was how kind and helpful the staff were.

At one point, I realized I had lost my passport (every traveler’s worst nightmare), and the staff went above and beyond to help me. The staff Isa directed me to a nearby police station, and the Ryuichi even helped call the police and offered to leave his own number with them since I didn’t have a Japanese phone number. The other two staffs (which I don’t know their name) helped me to search for it by taking the other round of the journey of the same route.Thanks to their help and support, I was able to find my passport in the end!

Not only was the karting super fun, but the staff made me feel incredibly supported and safe. Can’t recommend them enough — 100% worth it for anyone visiting...

They’ve got a great system with guides at both the front and back, so even if you hit a red light or another car sneaks in between, you’ll never feel lost. We went in March, and it was a bit chilly, so I’d definitely recommend a light jacket and gloves to stay comfy.
