This botanical garden is huge. I went during the plum flower season, there were so many beautiful trees. The plum flowers were pink, red, white, yellow. The trees were labelled. Overall, it was really good to see these plum flowers. There are other flowers as well like roses but you have to go during the season. I went in February and could only see the plum flowers. There is also a greenhouse that has a variety of plants that can be found in warm countries like India. I love plants, so I absolutely enjoyed this place. There are all sorts of plants from papaya trees to insectivorous plants. There are also rooms of orchids and other beautiful flowers. Outside the garden, there are shrines, restaurants and shops. You can renter as many times as you want as long as you show the ticket at the counter. I absolutely loved this place and would recommend it to anyone who loves...
Read moreI always take my friends and family to this place. It's best to come in spring or autumn when they have the rose festival. But I came last month and it was still worth it. You can take people of all ages.
You can go to the glass house where they keep all their tropical plants, cacti, begonias, orchids and more. Toilets are everywhere so it's pretty convenient.
The only thing I can complain about is time and ticket price. They close at 5:00 which I understand is common for all parks in Japan but I wish they could extend it for a least one hour. I can imagine watching a beautiful sunset from this place. The ticket for adults is ¥500 which is a little high compared to other parks. For that price the place is well maintained and really neat but I hope they offer something free like a water bottle...
Read moreAs someone who loves horticulture and botany, this garden is a must see! I have a totally new appreciation for orchids and begonias. I went in early November in an usually warm autumn (according to the locals). Not many flowers were blooming, but the color on the trees was lovely. There was also a lot of wildlife out and about! Lots of carp, frogs, and a large heron. I strongly recommend two things: try the rose-flavored soft-serve and wear bug repellent! The garden also has a wheelchair-accessible (paved) path illustrated on the map. If you have a powered wheelchair with decently wide wheels you can also probably do some of the gravel paths, just be careful not to get stuck! The accessible bathroom is the best I saw in all of Tokyo, and there is a room with an adult-sized changing...
