Nishikidaini Park — Attraction in Tokyo

A park located near the south exit of Tachikawa Station and Tachikawa Minami Station on the Tama Monorail. Found amusingly past alleys filled with bars, honky-tonks and even love hotels, it is famous for it's colorfully painted red Oni (demon) slide. In addition to the slide, there is a small sandbox, some swings and an open area to run around. An additionally great point is the location in front of the train tracks and next to a large road, where kids can see all sorts of trains and other cars/vehicles that pass by. It should be noted that while kids will probably enjoy it, adults may find it off-putting the park is situated next to love hotels and dive bars. It is also not quite the cleanest park and is frequently littered with trash. In addition to kids, it is not uncommon to see adults smoking or sleeping on one of the benches. This park ticks all the boxes with shaded benches, an open play area, a restroom, and the giant red oni slide. However litter and some skateboarders scaring kids from the slide detract.

What I look for in a park:

1. A place to sit and relax and maybe enjoy a snack
2. Shade. An escape from the hot Japanese summer sun
3. A restroom
4. Space for activities
5. Anything else fun: water in the form of a stream or pond, exercise equipment, playground equipment, historic...

鬼の顔の大きな滑り台が鎮座する特徴的な公園 立川駅からも近く立川通りの大ガードの脇にある一見普通の児童公園です。 すぐそばを線路が通っているので電車の音も聞こえるし、走る電車を見ることも出来るので電車好きなお子さんにもお勧めだと思います。車が好きなお子さんには脇に大ガードが通っているので歩道橋上から行き交うたくさんの車を眺めるのもテンション上がるのでは 公園内には大きな鬼の頭を模した滑り台がありとても目を引きます。 距離はそれほどでもないですが幅があるので何人かで一斉に滑り降りることができたり、コンクリート製？で表面が塗装されすべすべとした感じなので小さいお子さんとお母さんとかで一緒に滑り降りるのにもちょうどいいのではないかと思います。 最近ではこちらの公園で鬼うまフェスと言う名のイベントも毎年行われていて近隣の飲食店などを含め色々なブースがあるので興味のある方は行ってみては？ 子供の頃から時々遊ぶこちらの公園の滑り台が好きでしたが、最近は...
