I stayed here in February for 7 days. This hotel has a wedding department on the 2nd floor of the hotel. The lobby is beautiful and wedding pictures are always taken there. The staff is very gracious and helpful. The restaurant is pricey but the food is tasty. There buffet breakfast is full of both Japanese and American types of foods. You can get omelets to order and eggs sunny side up too. The rooms are spacious for Japan. A double bed and a desk and a lounge chair with a stand up lamp and an end table. They have a business center for printing needs and a laundry room on the 1st floor for guests to use. They sell soap at the front desk. The dryer was not working properly so it took 1 hr and 30 min and it was still not dry. If you join their hotel club (for free )you get free newspaper, bottle of water and parking daily. Great deal. Housekeeping staff was courteous and polite. You could put out your do not disturb sign and they would not bother you. You then could ask housekeeping as they pass you room for cleaning to get supplies you need, clean towels, razor, wash cloth, etc. This hotel is near the Tachikawa train station and numerous little eateries right around it. Starbucks, Crispy Cremes, Wendy's, MacDonalds, etc. I would recommend you stay there if you are in the...
Read moreThe Hotel Nikko Tachikawa was a nice and quiet mid-tier hotel, about a 10 minute walk from Tachikawa Station and easy to find. It was nice to get away from the busy-ness of Tokyo proper. ||||Checking in was quite easy; the staff was polite and communicating in English was not a problem, and I was quickly in my room. The room was a decent size and quite clean, and the furniture never made the room feel cramped. The double bed was big enough and I slept well. The free wifi and air conditioning worked fine, and there was a small TV in the room, so the room was comfortable. The bathroom is normal sized (for Japan) and just fine - everything was acceptable. The hotel is quite quiet overall, which was relaxing. Checking out in the morning was just as easy and fast as checking-in. ||||The restaurant is of decent quality, but overpriced, at least at dinner. I got a dinner special (some hamburger steak set) and it was much too expensive for the meager amount of food. Although the staff was kind and responsive, I recommend eating outside near the station. ||||In the end, this was place was very cost-effective and of generally good quality. If I had to stay in Tachikawa again, I would strongly consider...
Read moreI was pleased with my visit to Hotel Nikko. The bed was comfortable, the WiFi was reliable and fast, toiletries were nice, room was clean, and the breakfast was plentiful and very good!||My only displeasure was the shower head, and the air conditioning. The water pressure was so strong (which I like) that the head wouldn't shoot straight ahead at you when hanging on the wall. It would only shoot to the left towards the wall, or the right towards the bathroom floor. Therefore, I had to hold it all shower long. Not a big deal, but, memorable. ||Additionally, the air conditioning was comfortable, but, I couldn't get it as cold as I wanted it. Again, not a big deal. ||Nevertheless, I was pleased with my stay and look forward to returning. 4/5...
