Big mistake, I didn't read previous reviews before going there. I really killed one of my precious vacation day by visiting it. If possible avoid. Go to Thailand, Philippines etc. You will get much more satisfaction for your money. And so the adventure: First, the coin locker stoled 400 yen from me: 2 times x 200 yen. You put the money first, then lock and then take out the key. But first time the locking jammed and the second time it didn't released the key. Not possible to take money back. I am 4 years in Japan, first time this. Second, showers and other facilities kind of shabby. Pity no pictures could be taken inside to show what I mean. Third, lifeguard jumped on me like eagle because I wanted to use my schnorchel. Very rude behaviour, unbelievable. Never had such problem on other beaches like in Beppu, Ishigaki, or even Naha main beach(bit small and blocked by ugly highway otherwise). Ayatollahs were far more democratic, believe me I have been there too. The beach and water itself was purposely cleaned from all features like small rocks, even fishes etc.. Absolutely boring just water and sand. And yes the noisy amusement part mentioned before is also there. Don't be misled by nice looking pictures, I was actually. Seems the place is only for locals. Getting there by bus was another adventure which deserve separate review. In short the Gaijins are not welcomed. Welcome to Sakoku 2.0. I also had 5-6 other unpleasant encounters in Okinawa so final decision for me is Okinawa never again (Nie wieder). Waiting vaccination (also problematic for Japan) to be able to travel to Thailand again. I felt much...
Read moreWe came here to go see the circus but it has changed locations three times to date and now they only have two shows. We also came kind of late not knowing there were only two shows. We went to the park and took some pictures. Toyosaki park parking used to be free but now it costs ¥500. That’s too much considering there is nothing there. There used to be a water slide a long time ago but when I went to check prices it was kind of steep, it got torn down as well. The bathrooms are way better than most parks, “they have toilet paper.” Otherwise this park nice, clean and a great place to bring your kids. New updated photos of the sunset and...
Read moreThe beach is quite nice and it’s a great place to view the sunset.
Unfortunately in the past couple of years the management has focused on adding more and more amusement activities. The latest being a large ‘net park’ which is an eyesore and the constant loud music they play near it completely kills the atmosphere.
This coupled with the super expensive parking charges they’ve started has resulted in it becoming a place most locals won’t bother...
