Cat Cafe MOFF iias Okinawa Toyosaki — Restaurant in Tomigusuku

One of the shop clerks was pretty condescending and had a bad attitude. When we approached the front desk, she asked "二名様ですか。(Two people?)" and we responded with "はい。(Yes)." and nodded, but she didn't seem to hear us. After a bit of uncomfortable silence, she sighed and said with an annoyed tone "日本語全然わからない。(You don't understand Japanese at all.)" but not even like a question, but like a statement. If you thought we didn't understand Japanese, why would you say that all in Japanese lol. Also adding the 全然 ("not at all") was super rude and unnecessary. She was a bit more civil after we told her we did speak Japanese, but her initial attitude was off-putting.

Additionally, the staff seemed to favor one customer over others. Two clerks, including the rude one, were overly attentive to a woman who had several cats with her, and even brought her more cats. At one point, she had six cats with her and yet the clerks were STILL bringing more cats to her. Meanwhile, other customers, including both foreign and Japanese patrons, were pretty much ignored. I didn't expect the employees to treat me like a friend or anything, but the blatant favoritism and their unprofessional behavior made me feel very uncomfortable.

Reception staff did not speak any word of English. They have a lot of annoying policies and will charge you for even 1 minute overtime. Which means you can’t enjoy the full 30min minimum time unless you you leave early. They also make you pay a mandatory drink per person, so the price is not ¥700 but more like ¥1200 or more. Our first foray into a cat cafe as a family was quite fun. Sure it was about 2000 💴 for 30 mins but we had the place mostly to ourselves and the cats were very interactive with the kids and other customers. 200💴 gets you about 10 kibbles of cat food which feels steep considering how scrawny some of the cats are but they are well taken care of by the staff. Drinks were amazing....
