The cherry blossom station in Okayama Prefecture 🌸✨ Miura Station is a tiny rural station between Tsuyama and Tottori Station with only a few trains running a day. Usually only servicing a few locals, in spring this station transforms when its beautiful cherry blossom tunnel forms. Local train enthusiasts gather and wait eagerly to take a picture of the train being engulfed by the cherry blossoms. This was one of the most beautiful stations I have seen in Japan so far 🥹🌸 If you visit, make sure to check the schedule beforehand! There are only 6-8 trains servicing this station a day. Also please visit Tsuyama and the cherry blossoms surrounding Tsuyama Castle to make the trip extra worth the detour 🌸 📍 三浦駅岡山県Miura Station, Okayama 🗓️ March 29 2023, in bloom right now ✨
If there were still castle tower, it would be more amazing castle but that was decomposed because of historical background. Even so, this fort looks amazing and also looks like maze ;) I guess some cosplayer will love here;P I forgot to take photo... I haven’t seen Sakura here that I decided to estimate 4 stars . The castle is surrounded by tons of Sakura trees that I’m sure here will become super beautiful place in Spring. I look forward to visiting here again .
(castles visited 50+) The coolest thing about this castle is you can see it from much of the city and visa versa. Plenty of cities have castles buy this one, you can really see the castle mountain and the castle from most of the city. The castle park was really nice. At the time of this review, it seems they are still resorting various parts. If you look at my photos you can see the hotel from the castle and see the castle the hotel.
Small castle on top of a hill. Highest castle in Japan. We drove and had to park at the bottom of the hill. There is a shuttle bus from the car park which will take you most of the way up for 500 yen return (closed December). Note there is still a bit of a walk with a lot of stairs.
It is the largest castle in Japan, and it is overwhelming scale. The view from the top is wonderful, the time of cherry blossoms and the time of autumn leaves are the best. Stone wall is lighted up in the amazing colors at night.
It is a very nice place to visit to learn about the local history and for some great views over the city. There are some unique limited time art exhibits located onsite as well as around the city to explore.
