The museum was closed for installing exhibits, except for a part of the ground floor that was open, so I was able to see a few famous Japanese works from the beginning of the last century. My favourite was the painting 'Woman in Kimono' by Hisamoto Nobuo, which i felt was so Japanese.
I was especially fascinated by the fact that Kurokawa Kisho designed this building, and the use of shapes and lines really typified his works, I thought.
I didn't realise then that the 'capsule' on display was from Kurokawa's famous work, the Nakagin Capsule Tower, a prime example of Metabolism in building construction, which was demolished (or, better put, deconstructed) in 2022.
I wished there were more interpretative materials in English, and also, i could afford to buy a couple of items at the shop.
