Cape Zanpa is one of the most breathtaking coastal spots in Okinawa. The ocean views are absolutely stunning, with powerful waves crashing against the rugged cliffs, creating a mesmerizing scene. The deep blue sea stretches endlessly, making it a perfect place to take in the beauty of nature.

The highlight of my visit was climbing up the Zanpa Lighthouse. The journey up can be a bit tiring, but once you reach the top, the panoramic view is truly spectacular definitely worth the effort. From up there, you can see the vast ocean meeting the sky, and the scenery is just awe-inspiring.

One of the most fascinating sights was the waves hitting the rocks and sending water spray back into the air. In some spots, it reminded me of Devil’s Tear in Bali, with the way the water crashes and sprays dramatically. It’s a spot that feels both powerful and peaceful at the same time.

If you’re in Okinawa, Cape Zanpa is a must-visit for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts. Whether you’re enjoying the sea breeze, watching the waves, or admiring the view from the lighthouse, it’s an...

Cape Zanpa is part of the Okinawa-kaigan Kokutei Kōen [Okinawa National Seashore Park], and it is located roughly in the middle of west coast of Okinawa Island.

The cliff-based cape has about 2-KM long. For most of the visitors, they may visit the white-color lighting house, which requires 300 Yen for admission. Because the cape on the cliffs is relatively flat and smooth for hiking or walk, government does construct an excellent hiking trail for visitors and bikers, and these hiking trails are popular for various types of visitors.

In nearby Zanpa Beach, there is hotel and eatery in summertime. In winter, visitors can find a food truck at the entry point of Cape Zanpa, and food truck does sell Blue Seal ice cream, corn dog, soda and other hot meal items in reasonable price.

There is NO direct bus transportation to the Cape, but visitors can take bus from Naha terminal to Yomitan and then walk for 3 KM to the Cape.

There is NO entrance fee to enter Cape Zanpa and parking is...

Review of Cape Zanpa, Okinawa

Cape Zanpa is a scenic coastal destination on the western edge of Okinawa, known for its dramatic cliffs, picturesque lighthouse, and panoramic ocean views. The 30-meter-high lighthouse offers a stunning vantage point, especially at sunset. The rugged coastline, with waves crashing against the cliffs, adds to the natural beauty, making it perfect for photography.

In addition to sightseeing, the area has walking paths, a small park with shisa statues, and beach access nearby. There are food stalls and souvenir shops to explore as well. Cape Zanpa is a great spot for nature lovers and an easy half-day...
