Cape Zanpa Drive-In — Restaurant in Yomitan

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. BAD SERVICE. SUBPAR FOOD. Let me start off by saying that I do not leave bad reviews, and love to support local businesses- but this place absolutely warrants one star. First impressions, the restaurant was filthy. Walking up to the restaurant there was trash, junk, rusted metal cages out back, and a damaged walkway to the entrance. I honestly thought the restaurant was shut down and abandoned. Once we walked in, the tables and floors were filthy. The tables are not sanitized or even wiped down between customers. Not once. The girl at the register had a terrible attitude and was very unfriendly. She also failed to ring up an entire sandwich so we ended up just splitting the one sandwich. THE WORST PART was watching a table of 8 walk in and order 15 minutes after us (just 2 of us) and receive their 8 drinks before we even received our 1 soda!!! The table of 8 also received their entire food order before we received our 1 sandwich and 2 fries. The order took over 45 minutes to come out and of course when she brought our food to us she rolled her eyes and had an attitude. Ordered their speciality fried chicken burger and sweet potato fries. It truly is one of the best chicken burgers I have ever had. I originally ordered for myself, my partner took a bite then ate the whole thing. I had to drive back to get another. We went with the jalapenos and cheese. I forgot to take a photo prior before I demolished half of it.

The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy tender on the inside, the cheese was melty and stringy, with a light coleslaw and lightly toasted fluffy buns.

The sweet potato fries were also very good in some tempura batter and comes with a sweet dipping sauce. It had a great crunch and soft on the inside.

For drinks we ordered from the specials board that had the strawberry lemon squash. Perfect way to wash down the perfect burger.

If you are visting Cape Zanpa or Nirai beach, you have to come here to try the burger. Highly recommend. I'm still...

This was a "drive-in" that you should understand is not a drive through style restaurant. That is just the name (for some reason). It is by the giant shisa statues near Zanpa Beach. It. Simply. Has. The. Best. Chicken. Sandwich. In. The. World. That is it: THE BEST. Juicy, plus bacon. I feel that having the best anything in the world should be touted: this is it. Unbelievable sandwich: the bun alone is worth the trip. (And to think I once waxed poetic about Popeye's and Chick-Fil-A.) Plus...the sweet potato fries are out of this world. Delicious. Delicious. Delicious. Interesting drinks as well. At the end I elected to try the raspberry cardamom cake and while it was good I didn't really taste any cardamom....
