Read moreThe sellers were not as friendly as i saw on youtube.Maybe because I didnt have camera in my hand. They did not give as much food to try like I saw on youtube as well. One seller gave us 2 items to try we liked it and said we will come back. When we came they were playing with phones.Like most of other sellers so we walked passed his shop amd his nextdoor neighbour greeted amd gave us some food to try. So we bargain and bought from him instead. The first seller got mad that we did not buy from him and began shouting and argued and bantered (of course in russia so we didnt undrstnd) to his neighbour. It was intense and we wanted to walk out. Those two then kept asking what did we want fighting for business. We were not comfortable and ended up buying from both shops bc my partner felt guilty. I mean I wouldnt if I were me. You played with your phones that means you just dont want business! The first seller was still angry at us! Like wth? Kept saying that the price we paid next to his stall was expensive and kept trashing his neighbour and pointing fingers and getting mad at us. (Which was not true the price he offered was the same price actually). I mean come on we are SEA ppl. We are used to ppl cheating at bazaars/stalls.Please dont trick us esp when u didnt get the business. Certainly did not understnd the word ‘rizq’ then. There are many winter wear stores available: Jackets, caps, sweaters, scarf, gloves, snow boots, shoes etc. Shoes n Jacket will be having all major brand names like Nike, puma, Newbalance, Kelvin Klein etc.. Authenticity couldn't be verified. Many Souvenir stores are also available here. You can shop fridge magnets, wooden pots having the Kazakhstan stylized prints, Marble apples (Almaty means Apple City), and lot of other things. Good place to explore. Inside the big hall, they have variety of dry fruits stalls, meat stalls, etc. "Modi" name is particularly popular among the dry fruit sellers here 😁 - A good marketing tactic to get attention from Indians - yes you will see a lot of Indians while you toam around. Some food joints are available near by yhis Green bazaar. If you want to try shawrma, or a meal - you can find restaurants here.
Duration: 2-3 hours or add 1 more hour if you are doing some shopping here.
Timings: I went there in Nov - when winter is just catching up. Shops starts to close around 5pm though some remain open till 6.30-7pm.
Suggestion: In the morning you can visit Ancesion cathedral in the morning and have lunch. Post lunch around 2.30pm, you can visit green bazaar.
