We booked this hotel because it had high ratings, and the location is central to the park and green bazaar. We were quite disappointed because it was too HOT during summer. After an exhausting day visiting the city, we want to come home to a comfortable room. The air-conditioning could not make the room cold, even if it was in maximum setting. We were even transferred to a new room, but it was the same. They could not transfer us further because they were "fully booked." During our 2-week trip in Central Asia, we even stayed in hostels, but our rooms were never this hot. It was so uncomfortable, we could not sleep well. :( The hotel badly needs UPGRADING. Some of the sinks had stains, some toilet seats were broken, it can pinch your thigh (it hurts). Other things that could be improved: ❌️ no coffee in the tea/coffee maker ❌️ refrigerator in the room is not cold To be fair, breakfast buffet was superb. Wide array of choices. It was constantly refilled even if it was near closing time. Plus, their staff were excellent. Front desk / receptionist spoke good English and we could communicate our needs. Kudos to Stas / Stanislov and Kairat for doing their best to move us to a better room. I think that their excellent service could still not make up for the aging rooms. :( Please upgrade your facilities to make it a nore pleasant experience for your guests.

Our experience at Renion park in Almaty, Kazakhstan, was truly delightful. Nestled in a prime location, surrounded by vibrant 24-hour restaurants and coffee shops, the hotel offered a charming atmosphere for our stay. What truly set this establishment apart was the exceptional politeness and English proficiency of the reception staff. A heartfelt thank you goes to Kairat, the hotel representative, whose invaluable assistance made our stay seamless. Kairat efficiently arranged taxis and guided us through unforgettable trips around Almaty, adding a personalized touch to our experience. Renion Park boasts not only a strategic location but also a range of amenities that enhanced our stay. The on-site restaurant, serving delectable dishes until late at night, provided a convenient dining option. The 24-hour open bar added a lively touch to our evenings. Additionally, the basement swimming pool offered a relaxing retreat after exploring the city. For those considering a stay at Renion Plaza, a helpful tip is to request upper floors facing the garden view for an even more enjoyable experience. The proximity to both Arbaaz Street and the green Bazaar makes Renion Plaza a convenient choice for anyone seeking a wonderful Almaty experience. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for its excellent service, central location, and overall pleasant ambiance.

I stayed at Renion Park Hotel and found the rooms spacious and well-equipped with essentials like a coffee bar and bathrobes. The hotel was clean and comfortable overall. However, the absence of a Shataff and the limited breakfast variety were noticeable. During our stay, breakfast mainly consisted of watermelon and musk melon, with little seasonal fruit variety, and the menu remained largely unchanged except for porridge, which was the only dish that stood out. The air conditioners worked but were inefficiently placed behind curtains, making the rooms warmer during summer. The hotel’s excellent location, within walking distance to attractions like Panfilov Park, Green Bazar, Central Masjid, and Arbat Almaty, as well as nearby restaurants serving great local cuisine, made exploring the city very convenient and enjoyable. With some improvements, this hotel can offer a much better stay experience.

I honestly don’t understand how this hotel has received such high ratings. My experience was far from satisfactory, and I have a long list of drawbacks to highlight.

Lack of Air Conditioning The rooms do not have air conditioning. While it’s true that Almaty generally has a cool climate, there are days in late March and April when the afternoons can get quite hot. Without air conditioning, staying in the room during the daytime becomes extremely uncomfortable.

Not at All Indian-Friendly Many booking websites claim that this hotel is Indian-friendly, but unfortunately, that was not the case. There were no vegetarian options available for breakfast, and when we requested something vegetarian, the staff acted as if they were doing us a favor. Despite multiple requests, they outright refused to prepare anything vegetarian.

Additionally, the staff had very limited English proficiency, making communication difficult.

Poor Soundproofing The rooms are not soundproof at all. Since there’s no air conditioning, we had to leave the windows slightly open for ventilation. As a result, we were constantly disturbed by traffic noise, even on the fourth floor. To make things worse, there were intoxicated individuals making noise throughout the night, making it nearly impossible to sleep.

Misleading Tour Services A man named Kairat, associated with the hotel, convinced us to book sightseeing tours through him. Trusting him was a huge mistake, as he ended up cheating us. This was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

The Only Positive: Exceptional Bellboy The only good part of our stay was a bellboy named Lawyer. He was genuinely kind, helpful, and professional—one of the few bright spots in an otherwise disappointing experience.

Final Verdict: Not Recommended for Indian Travelers I strongly advise my fellow Indian travelers to avoid this hotel. The lack of basic amenities, unhelpful staff, and overall unpleasant experience make it a...

The room was nice and the hotel location is very nice, but we had a situation that upset us a lot from an employee on 12/10/2024 at approximately 11:00 in the morning. This employee took advantage of us and accused us of lying, and she also lied to us. You are able to restore the surveillance cameras because I do not know the employee’s name. Instead of asking us if something happened to us because of the hot water or telling us thank God for safety, she accused us of being the reason. She asked us if we opened the window with the heater and we told her that we did not do that. It is not the first time we have gone to Kazakhstan and we are not children to do this thing. Then she said that the cleaning lady entered to clean the room while we were outside and closed the window because we left it open and the heater was also open. Before we left, we closed the window because we knew that the weather outside was cold and we wanted the room to be warm. We told her that this was wrong and that if there was negligence in maintenance, it is not our problem. Then she said that you did this in In the morning, we told her that she told us that we did it yesterday, so how was there no mistake yesterday and it happened today? How can she say that we did this in the morning and before that she said that we did it yesterday? She did not stick to her words and we asked her where is hotel manager, then she said that she is the manager and we know that she is not the manager and we said to her in a loud voice where is the manager and she said that she is not here. She fooled us as if we were children and asked us for 100,000 in Kazakh currency and we did not pay because we didn’t something wrong , then she said pay the amount you want. We were very upset because of this fooling and we were going to call the embassy when she saw that we were going to call the embassy, she retracted everything and her words and we did not pay...

We stayed for 2 nights at the Renion Park Hotel. It is walkable distance to the Panfilov park, the Ascension Cathedral, Arbat Street, the Green Market and the Central Mosque. It is also close to a lot of restaurants and cafes and it was perfect for us. Their breakfast was really good and one of the best that we have had in the stans - salads, fruits, nuts, yogurt, eggs, pancakes and a lot of other options and desserts. Though they do not allow you to take anything from the breakfast area. For folks like us who like to just eat a salad for breakfast, it is hard because I like to take some bread or a croissant to eat an hour later. Maybe they can relax that rule a little bit. ||Room was perfectly ok and clean, no issues with it at all. There is a kettle in the room if you want to make some coffee or tea and they do have a mini fridge in the room as well. Our room had enough space to open two suitcases.||The hotel also arranged for us a tour to Big Almaty Lake, though the tours can be a tad more expensive than hiring an independent tour/taxi guide to the lake. ||We came back to Almaty a few days later after checking out of the hotel. We had a late night flight and had left our luggage at the luggage storage at the airport and since we nearly had a 10 hour layover in Almaty, we went back to Almaty to the green bazaar and have dinner in Almaty. Since our flight was late night, we went back to the hotel and explained our circumstance and they allowed us to crash on the side sofa in the reception area and get a few hours of sleep before the flight. That was really nice of the hotel to allow us to get some rest and was greatly appreciated. ||Definitely will come back and stay at this hotel on any future...
