Liberation Tower is one of the most iconic landmarks in Kuwait City. Also known in Arabic as "Burj Al-Tahrir", it is the second tallest structure in Kuwait, standing at 372 meters (1,220 feet) tall.
History & Significance:
Construction of the tower began in 1990, but was halted due to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.
After Kuwait's liberation in 1991, construction resumed and the tower was completed in 1996.
It was named "Liberation Tower" to commemorate Kuwait’s liberation from Iraqi occupation.
Design & Architecture:
The tower features a modern design infused with Islamic architectural elements.
Its exterior is clad with ceramic tiles.
It includes telecommunication offices, and has three main functional floors, including a revolving restaurant and observation decks (limited access).۔۔۔

It was supposed to be called Kuwait Telecommunications Tower. But when the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait took place, construction work was almost halfway through, and Al-Baj was put on hold. Construction has resumed after the ouster of Saddam Hussein's forces on February 27, 1991.
