We stayed here for one night for a protracted stop over in Kuwait City. Upon check in; the hotel allowed us to check in early at 0900hrs which was greatly appreciated after flying in that morning after a tiring overnight flight from India.|The hotel was well located and appeared to be pretty central. We stayed on the 19th floor and had an incredible panoramic view of downtown Kuwait City and could even see the Kuwait Towers on the Gulf Coast through a small gap in the downtown skyscrapers.|The room was clean, modern and spacious. The king bed was large, comfortable and the en suite was ok. The air conditioner was also of good quality.|The only criticism of the room was that the shower drain appeared to be blocked and a shower of any longer than a minute or two would flood the bathroom floor for at least the next hour before it drained away. The large ceiling height windows were also very dirty so it spoilt the otherwise stunning view of Kuwait City - maybe the hotel could invest in some window cleaning services?|The hotel is within walking distance of the nearby Souk Mubarakiya and is also in technical walking distance to the Kuwait Towers - although I wouldn't recommend this after walking there in 46C heat with a distinct lack of pavements!|There is a minimart close to the hotel just over the road from the roundabout and a few relevant...
Read moreI had a very unpleasant experience at this hotel. To begin with, the place was very dirty and had a strong smell of dampness. On my first day, when I tried to take a shower, I discovered that the drain was clogged, and the water wouldn’t go down. On top of that, the towels they provided were torn, which was completely unacceptable.
As if that wasn’t enough, I had issues with the reception staff. I had booked and paid for two nights, but on the second night, two receptionists insisted that I had only paid for one. Even after I showed them clear proof of my payment, they kept insisting that I needed to pay for another night. One of them even started shouting at me, which was extremely rude and unprofessional. After all this unnecessary drama, they told me to wait until the next day to resolve the issue with their boss. In the end, it turned out they were at fault, and they refunded the extra payment.
The only positive aspect of this hotel was the gentleman in the kitchen who prepares the eggs in the morning. Thanks to him, I would give this place one star; otherwise, it would be zero.
I do not recommend this hotel. They need significant improvements in cleanliness, maintenance, and...
Read moreThe best first: the price is low for the location.|And on the basic level everything works.|The staff is reasonably friendly, the room is clean, the bed is firm, there is a varied breakfast, where they prepare the eggs the way you want it. |Since you get a discount you should not complain about glass and mirror pannels broken long time ago in the lifts. In the breakfast room you should not complain about the broken and blind window pane, the almost completely missing outer pane in another, the air outlet vent hanging down obliquely in just one or two remaining screws, the desiccated huge insect lying on its back on a ledge, or about the windows that probably never have been cleaned ever.|In the rooms you should not complain about the paint daubed not just onto the walls but also onto some parts of wooden pannels, the shield plates of the light switches, etc.|One could go on and on, but there is nothing essentially wrong, it is just somewhat shabby. |A professional management, with a reasonable budget, could make sure that each room gets a few days professional TLC, and would make personal inspections. |But alas, then the price would probably, justifyably, go...
