We booked a VIP room here 3 months ago to celebrate our birthdays and we were so excited to spend the night here. But our stay here started with a unpleasant welcome, very cold, we had to prove our booking by showing confirmation emails but without internet connexion in Laos it's hard ! Then finally we can go to the suit room, very nice, big, everything looks clean, nice view on the city butâ€Ķ you will have to share the room with some cockroachesâ€Ķ ! In order to forget this terrible meeting we wanted to have a drink in the top bar so nicely presented on the website butâ€Ķ it was closed, and when we asked the receptionist there were no explanations ! Back in our room we wanted to use the wifi butâ€Ķ no wifi reception in the room ! And don’t bother to call the room service because they won't answer, the reason : the line isn't working.|After a pretty good sleep in the big bed we had the worst breakfast in Laos : no smile from the staff, cold food, fake coffee and dry breadâ€Ķ|I do not recommend you to stay here, you can find a better place in Pakse, with warm staff and...

It is a palace which has not been utilize by the King himself, and it has converted into a hotel as of today.||||The hotel itself is also a tourist attraction which not many tourist will visit. If you like a quite place to sleep, this could be good option apart from hotel along the streets. ||||Is a 30 plus year old building, so do not expect it to be in tip top condition. Within the building, you can actually see some unique Laos architecture filled with dragons and royal features. Some furniture still preserved from its origins, but not many (the King didn't live in the palace itself, therefore there were not many luxury items)||||Behind the palace, there is a stairway downwards leading to a prayer area. is very quiet but nice place to take few nice pictures.||||The rooms are very standard and spacious, the only thing lack is the lighting, is a bit dark in certain areas.||||The inclusive breakfast is not too bad, you can taste some of the local flavor like kafir lime fried noodles. Coffee, Laos coffee, quite good...

This is a fabulous looking true Palace converted to a Hotel. Its a must see in Pakse. Its unfortunate the Lao people do not have the funds to maintain it to the level it deserves. Our room on the Third floor was huge, and comfortable, but showing the restrictions on maintenance. The views from the open verandahs are amazing. The hotel advertises at the front door and in the elevator the cocktail bar on the top floor, yet while its there it was never open in the 5 days we stayed. However its worth the visit to use the open area to see the 360 degree views amazing. The free breakfast was Ok but not extensive and after the second morning we used the Coffee Shop across the road. Some of the staff were good but overall the hotel does not get the idea of tourist service. I think this is more a Lao thing as tourism is still new for them. Still we...

Don't expect to be treated like royalty. Service, where it exists, is entirely impersonal. Kudos, however, to the room cleaning staff - though shampoo bottles and the mini bar were not refilled, the room was always very clean. Maintenance of the rest of the hotel's ground is bare-bones-basic, with hardly-kempt gardens and walkways feeling more like service alleys, with furniture stored in stacks and brooms and buckets randomly distributed. But the sense of space and the good size of the rooms, not to mention the low price, make this an adequate place to stay.

Champasak Palace Hotel in Pakse, Laos, offers a unique experience with its historical royal palace setting and grand architecture. Champa palace hotel is an outstanding hotel where all members of staff are totally residents focussed. Guest Relations was especially outstanding able to make arrangements with impressive professionalism. The food is worthy of separate commentâ€Ķ. It was beautifully presented and of great quality
