One of the best place in Luang Prabang! Garden of Eden is a haven of peace. I did the Beginner Workshop and the Silver Workshop. You can make almost any piece of jewelry in the shop, and there's a lot to learn! If you really want to learn techniques, I'd recommend making braids. What's more, you can make them to suit your taste. All colors are possible! These can be great gifts. The view of the Mekong from the workshop is amazing. Even if not all the staff speak English, it makes for a 100% local experience, in a family-run shop. That's what you want when you travel to Laos. They work hard and deserve their success. What's more, $1.80 is really cheap to learn new things! They'll always do their best to make sure you're happy at the end of the workshop, despite the language barrier. I recommend them 100%. They also have a Silver Studio, where you can create silver jewelry according to your imagination! For $59, you get 10 grams of silver, which is huge! It's cheap compared to other countries that offer it. They'll do everything they can to help you achieve what you want. And what's more, it'll leave you with a great souvenir! You'll become experts :) It's great to learn from local people!

I had such an amazing and wholesome experience during the silver making class at the Garden of Eden. It’s a family run business and they take the time to make sure every customer is happy and leaves with jewelry that they love. They also make the experience feel so genuine and they truly care about their customers. I told them I had only one fully day in Luang Prabang so I did the half day course, arrived at 8:30 in the morning, worked till around 2:00 and they told me I could come back later to finish my rings so I was able to see the waterfall before sunset. I came back and they stayed with me and other customers until almost 10 PM making sure we got the jewelry we wanted. Me and one other guy were the last ones there and they let us eat dinner with them too which felt so special and it was so good! 😁 You can see the craftwork that goes into this place and I was told this place goes three generations back. I made two rings with sea glass and stones I collected while backpacking, a pendant with my initial, and also bought a pair of handmade earrings from their store & I love all my new jewelry.

This is a MUST DO tour in Luang Prabang. I did the silver workshop which was such a good time. I would say this tour is more suited towards casual travellers/backpackers as the vibe is really laid back and relaxed. The family said they had received some complaints that they were unprofessional so if you’re a little snobby family from england maybe this tour isn’t for you but if you wanna hang out and make jewlery in a relaxed environment with a super cool local family then you’ll love it. Making jewellery from silver on your first try is super tough, but the family helps you with the hard bits and provides guidance. One thing i will say is that i wish they did a walk through of the process before hand, and maybe a tour of the shop listing the tools and what they can do so that i knew the realm of possibilities before drawing up my design. It would have been nice to learn a bit more about the history of jewellery making in Laos and stuff.

I just recently completed the half day silver workshop which was so much fun! With the 10g of silver provided I made a necklace pendant, ear cuff and bracelet. The staff were incredibly talented and helpful, guiding you each step of the way. They truly made my visions a reality 🌠So don't worry if you've never done anything like this before. The Garden of Eden has such a lovely creative vibe and there's many jewellery pieces in the shop you can take inspiration from, but if you're doing the silversmithing workshop I do recommend coming with some sort of idea of what you'd like to made with some reference photos, as the possibilities are endless! After we finished the workshop we were provided with a lovely platter of fruit and snacks too. Something to keep in mind is that the Garden of Eden is located outside of the centre of town, across the river, but we were able to easily order a cheap Taxi off the Laos Loca app to save us a 30 min walk.

I came here with friends to take part in the silver workshop. Lan spoke brilliant english and guided me into making two beautiful bangle’s. The 4 hour workshop was worthwhile and I really enjoyed learning about silver making and being creative with my designs. I was also able to make two additional rings with leftover silver. Sadly, the two bangle’s weren’t as thick as I hoped for but was reassured they would harden over time. The following morning I messaged Lan on their Instagram asking if I could come back to thicken them. He was super helpful and gave me several options on how to thicken them, inviting me back to the studio the same morning. For an additional $40 I was able to use 10g extra of silver, take part in another class and remake the two bangles which I’m over the moon with. Lan and the team were so helpful and ensured I was satisfied with the results. Thank you for this amazing experience!

My two boys aged 11 and 15 both took the half day silver workshop. Arrived at 10am and left at 2:30pm. They had a good experience crafting silver pieces for themselves from start to finished product. We were assisted by Lun (who spoke excellent English) and Gon and Bey. They were very patient and assisted throughout the whole process. Boys very happy with their silver. If we ever come back to LP, my 11 yo said he wants to come again! While waiting for our silver to be polished and shiny we had a platter of fresh fruits and some snacks courtesy of the shop, while overlooking the Namkha river. So currently there are some works done on the banks of the Namkha river, you can’t use boat to cross the river and the bamboo bridge was demolished. You can only come via tuk tuk or other modes of transportation. Stop at the main road where the temple is and walk in the alleyway towards the riverbank.
