Itâs the second time we come to Saffron Coffee because the first time they impress me with their good coffee and food. But itâs a very bad experience for the second time with their service. After they served the coffee, the cashier came to my desk and said that theyâre donât have fries which included in my dish and will replace it with salad so I said I want to cancel the dish and he said I cant cancel but can change to another dish. I asked for an explanation but he cant explain so Iâm ok to keep my dish go with salad but then the cook told something with the cashier and he told me that they also out of my dish so I want to cancel it. Cancel the dish mean they had to return the money for me, the cashier just threw the money on my table and left. I dont hear any âsorryâ word from the beginning. After a while (while I was trying to finish my coffee) another staff come and said theyâre now have my dish available but I said no to him, he rudely got the order number from my table. Never think of recommend this coffee...
Read moreCame here 2 days in a row for lunch. The first day was a festival holiday and all the restaurants I went to were closed so out of desperation and to get out of the oppressive heat, I came here. Ordered the Big breakfast and a smoothie. Service is OK, they understand English. The WiFi was down both days. I sat upstairs where the aircon was. It was quiet and peaceful. The second day I ordered the same thing but noted discrepancies in the food. The eggs were overcooked on day 1 but on day 2 the potatoes were overcooked and too tough to cut. I wish the bacon was cooked to a crisp. They gave me a larger mug of water on day 2. Overall I wouldn't recommend the Big breakfast. Maybe get something else or just stick to their drinks. Both days it was quiet and cool- perfect for reading and doing work. Some digital nomads come here to work. The toilet is clean. I did see a baby roach on the long cushioned seat so I wouldn't sit there. Otherwise the place is quite clean. Staff aren't quick to clear empty plates on the 2nd...
Read moreThere are so many amazing little cafes and eateries along the Mekong at LPB, but Saffron is our favorite.
Specialty grade Lao Coffee (standard menu for all your regular coffees and also a brew bar for drip and filter coffees).
Excellent food menu with fair prices - great for breakfast and lunch and everything in between :)
Pro tips: Saffron has dedicated seating by the river. Order and let them know youâll be by the river. Saffron opens EARLY, 6am. So itâs a perfect place for for your morning coffee after your walk along the river :) Saffron has an air-conditioned upstairs area in case itâs a hot day and you need that extra cool-down Cascara - Saffron has lots of cascara home-made products. Cascara is the peel of the coffee cherry that is dried, crushed or powdered and then used in baking, sauces, granola, etc. Itâs a delicious âwineyâ flavor that you really should try at least once. Very few places carry cascara products so donât miss the opportunity to try lots of them at Saffron
