Terrible experience here. First, the menus are old, worn out and difficult to read, and the selection is extremely limited. The girl who waited on us spoke zero English, which would be understandable in other local restaurants, but this place appears to caters 99% to foreigner tourists. Luckily, we had a Lao friend with us, yet somehow this waitress didn't seem to understand Lao either, and managed to get just about everything wrong.

We ordered two separate dishes of Kra Pao (Holy Basil), one with no mushrooms for myself. She brought that one first, and without saying anything about it, proceeded to give it to the wrong person. About 5 minutes later, she brought the normal one with mushrooms, and then said, "oh, that was the one without mushrooms", which by now was half eaten. The waitress did not offer to fix it, or even apologize for the mistake. I said, OK, I can just eat half the portion. I took over the half-eaten Kra Pao, took a bite, and realized that it was not even a little bit spicy. The whole point of Kra Pao is that's spicy. I guess they make it mild for the tourists, I'm not sure, but I asked for some chilies, and that same waitress said they don't have chilies. I found this pretty shocking, as chilies are a pretty important part of Lao/Thai food, but OK. I walked to a market to buy some chilies, and then when I came back (about 20 minutes later), there were chilies on the table. I have no idea how that happened, but i was just glad to finally eat my (half plate of) Kra Pao. And after I spiced it up, it was pretty good.

I have no idea what's wrong with this place or that waitress. Maybe she is new, in which case, I don't want to be mean, but they should not just allow her to deal with customers without training and oversight.

My friends said "oh, this is Laos, service is always bad in Laos", but I didn't encounter any problems like this anywhere else I ate during my stay in...

Due to the good reviews, we were very excited to come here this morning, and sadly, left with huge disappointment and me now dealing with an upset stomach. The smoothie bowl I ordered was full with chunks of unripe, frozen, and tasteless fruit?? which I have been told is frozen pineapple. However it was barely recognizable as seen in the picture, there was some pieces of "proper" pineapple while most of them were totally inedible stone hard chunks. Since the rest of the smoothie was probably mixed with the same "pineapple" which I have now consumed, the smoothie itself tasted frozen and sadly also a bit bland, but I still finished it to not waste food or having to leave hungry. However, now my stomach hasnt been feeling well since breakfast. 1 Star for the service, cause after informing the kitchen staff, all I got was excuses that they freeze the pineapple and that right now the pineapples arent good and ripe. Then why have them on the menu??? There was no apology from the kitchen or effort to compensate me or redo my meal. The young boy serving us was the only one who spoke english and seemed friendly as well as sorry for the situation. Also, i dont understand why a shop advertising that they "deliver delicious healthy meals from locally sourced ingredients" would need to use frozen or unripe fruits instead of updating the menu with local...

4/5: A great family-run restaurant for tasty Lao food and drinks.

The name threw me off. By “cafe,” I figured I could come here with my laptop to get some work done while eating and drinking coffee. Unfortunately, there is no internet here :( A cafe without internet? Sounds wrong. Of the restaurants that I’ve been to in Luang Prabang, this is the first without internet. Quite inconvenient for me, in this day and age.

Sadly, the food took quite a while to come out. It wasn’t crowded inside. I was somewhat okay with this, however, since I wasn’t in a rush and this is family-run.

The food was great! I got the red curry with rice, and the curry itself was delicious. The only downside is that I paid extra for chicken, yet the ratio of chicken to vegetables in the curry was probably 1:5. The vegetables themselves were tasty, but I would’ve liked more meat.

I also ordered the watermelon with mint drink. It was an interesting mix, and I enjoyed it! Plus, when my glass was 1/4 full, the lady filled up my glass with soda water, so I had a watermelon soda now. Even tastier! I appreciated that extra drink.

Overall, a great place for tasty food. Just be sure to understand what type of...

Wow! Absolutely the best meal in LuangPrabang. I came here during the virus outbreak and luckily this cute little cafe was still offering food togo! I wanted to eat here everyday after my first visit— I got the house red curry and added local tofu! Do not skip adding tofu! The wife and chef picks up local, fresh made tofu from the morning market outside of town. The curry was packed heavily with local mixed vegetables and a hearty amount of tofu plus served with Laos style sticky rice. They serve vegan style Laos cuisine and an asian twist on some Western Dishes. I spent some time talking with the husband, whom speaks great English. He told me about the city and we had a pleasant discussion. He even went as far as helping me arrange a drive back to the capital, as my Embassy was making emergency flights out of the Country during the lockdown. I am so grateful for meeting these lovely humans! Good people making great food with pure love and energy! I would come back to LuangPrabang just to eat here and support this business! Thank you so much for being wonderful and respectful humans—
