Mullerthal trail B2 — Attraction in Berdorf

Starting point for the B2 trail. The path begins between the camping and the fire station. There is a large parking spot in front of this starting point.

The hike is one of the best and pleasant in the area. Your kids will love it. The Berdorf local path B2 is a hike (4,2km or shortened 3,0km) with an adventure guarantee for the whole family. After just a few meters you will reach the romantic canyon of Ruetsbech. Sporty hikers and those looking for an adventurous kick should absolutely roam the mysterious Ruetsbechschlëff, explore the Raiberhiel cave and climb up the iron ladder to Adlerhorst! An ascent to the beautiful viewpoints Ruetsbechplateau and Däiwelsinsel is absolutely recommended. All these unique sights are set on a barely two-hectare large area. And yet you can indulge in a long exploration tour in a fairytale setting. The itinerary crosses an old Roman road, follows the narrow path along the rocky outcropping and, after about 600 m, flows into the Wanterbaach climbing area with the famous Siweschlëff at the end. The passage through the „Schlüff“ and the ascent to the viewpoint is an absolute must! From Kaasselt, B2 runs along an almost flat forest path back to the leisure center Martbusch.

This is a short but beautiful hike. As soon as you leave the starting point you are plunged into forest, and it remains like that all the way, except for some 100 metres on a quiet country road. You can take a side trek up steps and a stairway carved through sheer walls of rock that is well worth doing, as it's not too long or steep and offers stunning views from the top.

We took around 2h30 including the side trek, plenty of photo stops & a couple of breaks for a kid to rest. If you go faster you can do it in around an hour I guess but that would be a pity.

Great route with kids so it was a little busy, but we will go again in better weather in spring to see the views in clear conditions.

Gelopen met een kind van 9 en een baby in de draagzak. Ik vond het best pittig tot het uitzichtpunt op de helft, veel trappetjes. Door de droogte veel zanderige keien en traptreden, hierdoor moest ik soms wel goed letten op hoe ik mijn voeten neerzette ivm kans op uitglijden. Als je start voor half acht in de ochtend kom je in principe niemand tegen zo in het hoogseizoen, en loop je ook niet in de hitte. Soms is het pad wat smal en loop je langs een stijle afgrond. Dit maakt het natuurlijk prachtig, maar ik kan me voorstellen dat ouders met kleine kinderen dit graag weten voor ze hier aan beginnen, het is niet perse een ongevaarlijke wandeling of ‘a walk in the park’. Wij hebben de raiberhiel overgeslagen, dit werd geadviseerd door het toeristisch informatiepunt in berdorf, deze is absoluut niet geschikt als je een baby voorop draagt in de draagzak. Ook de siweschleff hebben we overgeslagen omdat er een stuk is van 30cm, en dat is geen doen met een baby op je buik en een rugzak op je rug.
