I was very disappointed as many vendors decided not to open due to poh toh and tuapekkong celebration. A lot of street vendors are forced to close as their place has been occupied by other food stalls. But I've found a nice freshly made putu mayam at the end of the pasar malam/nearby low-cost flat area. It is a very affordable snack at Rm3 for 7 small pieces of flour noodles and served with fresh grated coconut and palm sugar. It was delicious, and I will definitely come back on this stall.

If you ever happen to be in Penang on a Saturday do visit this night market. Its about 25 mins from Georgetown but its worth the travel there! Lots of delicious food to buy. Theres halal and non halal sections of the nite market. Most of the food sold are at a reasonable prices! Highly recommended is the sayap madu or honeyed chicken wings and also the char kuay teow.

A great place to spend an hour or so. See the locals buying raw ingredients and travellers buying food all in the same market. If you are looking for cheap "fake" designer goods then this is not the right market. Go to Batu Ferringgi. Plenty of food to choose from. Lots of cars and bikes on the road so take care. Well worth the visit.

If you're looking to explore a wide variety of Penang's famous street food all in one place, Sungai Dua Night Market is a hidden gem worth visiting.

Open on select nights, this local night market offers a vibrant atmosphere with a wide range of street food options, from local favorites like char koay teow, apam balik, lok lok, and satay, to refreshing drinks and sweet treats.

Prices range from cheap to reasonable, making it perfect for budget-conscious foodies or tourists wanting to sample multiple dishes without breaking the bank.

It’s also a great place to soak in the local culture, mingle with friendly vendors, and enjoy the bustling night scene. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this night market is a great one-stop spot to experience the flavors of Penang.

Tip: Go early to avoid the crowd and to get the freshest picks! You can park at Lotus Supermarket and...

This is a very typical Penang night market patronised mainly by locals. There’s an obvious absence of tourists allowing you to enjoy a very local experience. Good variety of vendors offering drinks & fresh cooked dishes to fruit & veg through to clothing, kitchen ware and gadgets. Fresh crushed sugar cane juice, soursop juice, steamed sweet or savoury buns, deep fried; squid, mushrooms, tofu, chicken skin, and much more. Nasi lemak, Nasi kerabu, roti, grilled chicken, sooo many grilled items on skewers, and so much more. The market seems to have the more traditional Malay foods grouped together in the lower half. Take your time, browse,...

This is quite a happening night market in Penang. It's moderately big scale. This night market used to be bigger and had more vendors. But with time, it's changed. You can get most of the basic needs here. That also many food stalls available. I would say this night market is more lively in the sense that most vendors are young adults selling things that can cater for the young generation. As this night market is frequented by the China students from USM, you can also see multiple china food stalls here.

I know a lot of people parked at Lotus car park and walk there. I do appreciate Lotus not imposing any parking charges for...
