Zoo is easily accessed.ample parking ,with affordable parking rate.Rm0.60/hour during working days from 8am -5pm.download smart vehicle parking from apps store. But per transaction , additional RM1 charged.Public holiday+ weekend, free parking.

Make sure you buy your ticket online ahead of time .unless ure sure not many people then can jz buy from d counter.i assume the rate is jz the same.

Adult ticket (Malaysian) RM 38 Child (4-12 years old) RM 31

If u HV many children coming with u, please have some breakfast before going in.pakman asam Pedas would be great for breakfast.they serve other breakfast dishes too not only asam pedas.coming all d way to melaka, takkan makan mcd pula which we can get it anywhere

This zoo opens as early as 9am so it's good.try to see the show times so not to miss of the shows

The zoo itself is full of wonder and amazement, full of activities for young children, with variety of species of animals to meet and thousands more surprising and fascinating facts just waiting to be discovered. lots of "did you know" trivia everywhere. Kids really enjoy reading their info.

Kids love feeding the animal too but with extra charge of entrance tickets

Rabbit feeding RM5/entrance Sheep/camel/horse feeding RM 10/3 persons Horse riding RM10/ride ( 1 round only) There's other feeding too but we din go

Decor is bright and interesting especially dinasour park.kids love this the most.its real size dinasour s.we love it except the fair lady staff at entrance.she should just have some common sense to settle issue.

Tram is also provided.its our 4th time here but we've never taken d ride unless in the future we come late & we don't want to miss anything than myb tram is a better option.our youngest 3 years old also can walk + stroller so we've no issue to walk

Lots of food kiosks and a restaurant onsite. Make sure you stop into the tiger eye cafe & meet this wonderful friendly cutie lady (dressed in red). affordable foods& beverages.fast service.great teamwork.

Waffles (peanut+strawberry) RM 4 Burger RM5 Ayam gunting RM 10 Air kosong botol besar RM5 Boba drinks We wanted to try coconut shake but it was out of stock.its jz quick bites as later we went somewhere else outside for dinner

Please make sure to stop by for prayer.prayer room also provide telekung but better bring your own one.

Cons: 1.Toilet needs prompt attention & improvement in term of cleanliness 2.Non smoking zone but their own staffs are very irresponsible smoking outside the kiosk.one of that kiosk is In front of elephant. 3.there's few photography booths that we can take family photo with additional charges.like entrance, parrot, dinasour, elephant.but only at d entrance & parrot booths ,I personally think the staffs did a Great job to get people to join them.dinasour booth totally out. 4.there are many monkeys wandering around.they can simply grab your foods &drinks from your hand especially from d kids so please be Extra careful.

Definitely can takes a full day to visit. But we went out early to check in hotel.and we were rushing to enjoy seafood at muara ikan bakar sungai duyung.it opens as early as 4pm.very yummy, fast service & fresh seafoods.do come early to avoid long queue...

Decent but Needs Improvement

Zoo Melaka is a good destination for a half-day family outing, especially if you're visiting Melaka with kids. The zoo covers a large area and houses a wide variety of animals, including tigers, lions, elephants, birds, and reptiles. The layout is relatively easy to follow, and there are shaded walkways throughout most of the park, which makes walking more bearable under the hot sun.

One of the highlights of the visit was the Elephant feeding session—it was fun and interactive, especially for children. There are also scheduled animal shows (bird shows and keeper talks), which are informative and entertaining. The Dinosaur Encounter section, with life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, was a nice surprise and added something unique to the experience.

However, there are quite a few things that could be improved. First, the maintenance of the zoo is inconsistent. While some enclosures looked well-kept, others seemed a bit run down or empty, with signage that was missing or outdated. Several visitors, including myself, noticed that some animals weren’t visible, possibly due to enclosure renovations or poor visibility.

Another downside is the additional charges inside the zoo. After paying the entrance fee, almost everything else costs extra — the tram ride, certain feeding areas, and access to specific zones. While I understand that such experiences have costs, it adds up quickly and could be better communicated upfront.

The toilet facilities could definitely use an upgrade — during our visit, some restrooms lacked basic hygiene and weren’t well stocked. For a place that welcomes so many families, this is something that really should be prioritized.

Parking was manageable, though it can get quite crowded during weekends or school holidays. I recommend coming early in the day to beat the heat and the crowd.

Overall, Zoo Melaka has potential. It’s an educational and fun place for children, and you can spend a few hours exploring comfortably if you plan ahead. But with better maintenance, cleaner facilities, and clearer pricing, it could be a much better experience for everyone.

Would I return? Possibly, if there are new attractions or improvements. But as it stands, it’s a "good enough" zoo — not great, but not...

Fist timer coming to zoo melaka.

Parking easy to find when i reach there just before 10am (sat). Even it is a long weekend (w/merdeka). I found that the carpark need to pay. It is not a free carpark. If you are coming on weekdays and sat, i believe by right you need to pay for the carpark. if not. depends on your luck.

Photography booth I think zoo melaka should add some photographer taking some candid photos to generate more income. atleast the income can pay for the animal. instead of normal photobooth. some ppl might be interesting to have some candid photos across the zoo. im not sure if this idea can be a good one or not. but you can try. the softcopy version maybe instead of printed. with zoo melaka layout.

animals some animals are still sleeping/resting. some are hiding. some are sick. i hope those animal will be okay soon. glad to see some active animals. even it is not as big as zoo negara, it is still okay. some cages are closed for renovation.

smoking/vaping i found some ppl smoke inside the zoo. not at the designated smoking area. should take this guy photos and put at the entrance. please do not smoke la. many animals and young kids around.

food/drinks i didnot buy any but my wife did. she bought an ice blended cost about rm8. i saw rm5 cendol melaka. some shops are closed. maybe do not have so much demands.

Facility I saw some toiletries across the zoo.

Ticket price RM33 excluded tax

Buggy/transport Got but not sure how much it cost you.

wheelchair user? most of the area are accessible but some path are not suitable. i saw a guy is pushing the wheelchair and also some are pulling the camping cart (kids).

Others I saw the dino-park. Like a small track across the zoo. Unfortunately it closed or under maintenance during my visit.

i rated as 3 stars. So many can be improve. Hope to see much more...

As a parents with an 8-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old son, our visit to Zoo Melaka was a great family time that I can't recommend enough! The highlight of our trip was definitely the new Dinosaur Encounter exhibit. My 8-year-old daughter was absolutely thrilled to see her favorite dinosaurs come to life in such a realistic way. The life-sized models and interactive displays kept her engaged for hours. My 13-year-old son, who’s a bit harder to impress, found it fascinating too, especially the educational aspects about how dinosaurs lived and what scientists have discovered about them. Just don't forget to bring umbrella, hand fan and lotsa water. ( For you to drink not the dinosaurs 😂) The animal enclosures are spacious and clean, and it's clear that the animals are well-cared for. We loved walking through the different habitats and learning about the various species. The restrooms definitely needs improvement. Please add more hand soap, and fix the pipes. Some are broken and leaking makes the toilet wet and dirty. The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready to answer questions or give directions. If you're tired you can opt for a buggy. RM50 for 45 minutes. They'll drive you around the zoo and stop at any point you prefer. This especially helps parents with small kids and during hot weather. Overall, Zoo Melaka is a nice zoo. The place improved a lot since we first went there 8 years ago. It’s a fantastic place for a family outing, blending fun and education perfectly. The Dinosaur Encounter is a must-see, and the entire zoo provides a wonderful opportunity to learn and explore together.
